Can anyone tell me when the price of the 3gs is likely to come down? I assume it will be when apple stop selling the 3g, but when is that? Thanks
darkio, 22 Sep 2009i dont have an iphone. so i cant be objective on it's concept effectiveness and overall perfor... moretry it, u'll love it.
u'll soon realise that u cant be bothered with the inability to change batteries or transfer garbage over bluetooth when ur busy surfing and app-ing away.
really want to xfer files? sit tight, hang on and wait to get home and send it thru the pc. patience is a virtue.
no judgements on how pricey it is but imho its because of the demand?.. thought about that?
oh btw on a different note, once u get used to the keyboards u'll also discover that its actually FUN to text and u'll enjoy it. i find its much easier and faster to text than compared to SE and other generic mobile brands.
like i said, all u non iphone users are being discriminated against.
oh and also, if u wanna copy the concept of having an app store please at least make it better and more user friendly than apple's apps store? u guys taken a look at nokia's apps store yet? its 'great' especially since they've got like a year monitoring apple's store and yet they decided on that horrible design of it that makes me want to hurl.
Gus, 23 Sep 2009Arron´s got a good point there... lolthanks gus haha
darkio, 22 Sep 2009i dont have an iphone. so i cant be objective on it's concept effectiveness and overall perfor... moreListen up people. I am an OWNER of an iPhone for ALMOST A YEAR which means what I say actually has value in contrast to other people judging without actually even touching one.
1)PRICE: The price is high. Admittedly though, it's something that has fortunately kept naive people off the iPhone. People that for lack of knowledge, will istantly christen a phone useless if it doesnt work the way they are used to working with their previous phone.
2)BATTERY. ENOUGH WITH THE BATTERY ISSUE! I have owned 9 different cellphones before the iPhone. THE ONLY REASON I EVER NEEDED A REMOVABLE BATTERY IS WHEN THE SIM SLOT/MEMCARD SLOT WAS UNDER THE BATTERY. There is simply no other reason to use a removable battery. If you are using the Phone soooo much and "need" a replacement battery, just remember to CHARGE OFTEN. I get 5 days of standby with 7 hours of use from my iPhone.
3)MEMORY. HAhahaha I'm sorry, but ignorant people that never used the iPhone before (and think they know better), believe that you need a memcard slot to backup your data... Well, you already have a HUGE memcard. It's called your computer. Plug in an iPhone and watch magic happen. NO OTHER PHONE HAS EVER SYNCED SO WELL TO ANY COMPUTER. Backup - Contacts - E-mails - Calendar - Music - Videos - Notes - Recordings - Applications - Purchased Songs - EVERYTHING GETS BACKED UP. No need for memory card slots.
4)BLUETOOTH. No data transfer ability. Used only for headset. All the data transfer between two iPhones takes place over WiFi. This is restricting of course BUT, who actually needs bluetooth to send data? The answer is simple: KIDS. When you have e-mail and browser funcionality for DATA THAT MATTERS (not trying to send a ringtone to my friend kind of data) you don't need bluetooth for file transfer. Period. Get over it. Seriously.
Finally, there is a simple reason the iPhone is such a hit. USABILITY. Use an iPhone and you'll see what I mean. Features don't matter if you can't use a phone. That's why EVERYONE is trying to copy the iPhone. I don't hear a lot of phones being called Omnia-killer or N97-killer or Pre-killer. Do you?

The iPhone is made to be a luxurious piece of technology. It looks good, has a big screen, user-friendly, and expensive.
Many people only consider the internal specs of a phone and make judgments based on that. However, as with most luxury items, what is important is the brand name, the high class-ness, and the innovative design (it's true that the iPhone popularized the touch screen smart-phone genre).
How you download song from your computer??? why the blue tooth is not working if u wanna xered songs??
XXX, 23 Sep 2009hi men pleazz can any one help me about the chosing between I-phone 3GS and N97 pleazzzzzzz get n97 or omnia 2, king of smartphone
Look, there is no reason for me to be jealous of your fake surround sound"
Of course there is. You dont have it and arnt accepting a fact that cheaper phones got it. Its a fact. Stop arguing.
"How can you say that nokia, samsung, and lg sold more than the iphone?"
The biggest dumbo on the planet arnt you?
"And again, there's a good reason why we don't have those features yet. It's because they're quite impractical for the time being"
Oh please, the most stubborn person on gsm arena. Not accepting Apple missing out on features others have intregrated on cheaper phones. GET OVER IT.
"Hey dummy, each company have different niche"
Only a handful of companies dominating the whole market (oligopoly), you are clearly wrong they dont have a "niche" but they target all segments of the market except for your Apple stuck to 1 product and 1 network. Keep using it while the whole world pass by.
"As I have said, just because those features are common to other phones, it does not have to be with the iphone"
It shows iphone doesnt have technology or are too dumb not to include it. probably the former as the giants in this market posses and integrate it
"The iphone screen resolution is not bad at all"
For the zillionth time, 320x480 is 2 year old resolution beaten by ALL Nokia touch phones, most high end-Samsung, LGs and SEs. OLEDs are becomming common (Tocco, N86 etc) and these prices lower that icrap of yours so clearly Apple losing in your "oh-so-cherished" iscreen.
darkio, 22 Sep 2009i dont have an iphone. so i cant be objective on it's concept effectiveness and overall perfor... moreYou are aware that every time you sync an iPhone that a complete back up is made, I can go to a computer now, log into MobileMe and remote wipe my phone so that everything is gone, then when I get home sync it to iTunes and restore my back up including messages, call records, settings, passwords, Internet history, everything.

"not having a card slot means, in short, that all data is lost for good in case of malfunction!"
Obviously you must be used to having a phone that malfunctions and wipes your data, otherwise why would you want your security blanket memory card.
It has never happened with my iPhone.
oh boy! i'm just another guy waiting for this phone to drop soon on my hand! heh! Me excited!! :D
hi men pleazz can any one help me about the chosing between I-phone 3GS and N97
darkio, 22 Sep 2009i dont have an iphone. so i cant be objective on it's concept effectiveness and overall perfor... morei agree with you on this phone. Iphone is overprized for it's quality and features. People buy it because it's user friendly!!! apple is smart in this field. Not alot of people know how to work an high tech phone!!!

i dont have an iphone. so i cant be objective on it's concept effectiveness and overall performance.
but i must, in all fairness, draw my subjective thumb down line under it.
not worth of it, not by a long shot. it's just a marketing trap for snobs. give it a bigger price tag, and they will go for it.
i mean, ALL other phones have removable battery. apple should know better. apple should know that the more modular the product is, the more practical and reliable it is. period(i'm not talking about reliability, but just the simple possibility to count on spare parts).
not having a card slot means, in short, that all data is lost for good in case of malfunction!
today, lack of bluetooth data transfers ability for the mobile phone of that price tag is just beyond comment
Only thing that i give an iphone hands down credit for, and undoubtable edge over others, is it's audio quality.
Other than that, i despise it.
It's a product i'd never own even if i could afford it.
