That my friend is why they are so successful, people are prepared to pay a premium for it.
Other manufacturers are scrambling to match it.
I tried using a 5800 and an N97, sure they do a lot of things but it's annoying to use them.
The Bold has all these keyboard shortcuts which are supposed to make things easier but how long does it take to learn them?
The menu system is convoluted and it's hard to do things like reset the phone.
Apple is making more profit from their handset sales than anyone else with good reason.
apple are the greatest in marketing... that's how they can create such a crappy phone, advertise features that have been around for 2 years, slap on an unbelievably large price, and still sell so many worldwide... (2 thumbs up for apple)
The bold in UK (retail) average should be £45 18m contract, 1200mins and 500sms and unlimited BIS. phone free.
and iphone is selling at the same tariff but you still have to pay the phone? and so many people buy it, why is that? I think it's just because of the name of the company, as some people dont even know iphone called iphone, they called it ipod phone.
when comparing the spec of iphone to e.g. bold, hero, n97. I have to say they are about the same, or even worse then most of these phones, but people like it, just like those who cannot drive but still want a sport car (and driving them at 40mph).
also i did not compare the cookie to iphone in spec wise, i was just purely comparing the sales figures. which cookie is clearly ahead, but what i dont understand is when i compare these two phones in sales, people said more cookie were sold becasue its cheap. is that really the case? does everyone has to use gps, email, internet or whatever high tech function to make a phone as a good phone? I dont think so, apple should look at what people really need and adjust the price, and of cos they need to solve many problem before launching the phone, rather just keep the customer to update and update, as they are paying hell a lots of money to get it, so they deserve a better phone!!

According to... moreI haven't experienced that issue ever even when it was 43C, btw my iPhone 3G is now 13 months old and the battery is as strong as ever, call quality is as good as my old N82, maybe that's because we have decent networks here.
What a strange person "oooh my GPS stopped working so I had to pull over to the side of the road too scared to continue", what a pansy.
I wonder how people managed in the days before GPS.
That article also said reception for voice calls and wi fi on iphone3g Su*ks.
According to this link as well you cant charge your iphone3g while using GPS cause its hot.
You cant turn GPRS off on the iphone3g and it drains your battery.
Maybe 3Yyt needs to step in. TAG TEAM.
Anonymous, 17 Aug 2009I donít know what is your age group is but while looking at your fantasy thoughts I would tell... moreWhy don't you do some research, here how to do an enterprise roll out of iPhones.
Hey how much does BB Internet Service (BIS) cost over there?
Here it's $A20 a month on top of a call plan with a 24 month contract, but that doesn't include YouTube you have to add another data bundle for video streaming.
I told all of you earlier, Blackberry is #1 selling in US, iphone is #4, so you guy don't have to compare anymore...unless someone want to know.
£ 400 for what? for this phone? no way. resell value is hopeless. basic iphone is available now for £50, what about this phone after few months? looks same like ipod touch ,so get that in £100 and nice decent black berry handset in remaining money
wait a min, I saw in the comments that someone compared LG cookie with iphone. first upon I want to salute that person & would like to thanks for sharing time for writing comment! Hats off to your comparison and I am sure you will buy cookie over iphone
I changed to bold as typing long email on i phone is an nightmare, except touch screen bold out perform this phone
Hongdolaxi, 17 Aug 2009So who did those market research about apple's audience? apple of cos, and you know what, i do... morethats why i told you, and rather i am saying it again iphone is good at its par. but is there any point to compare it with the mobile companies which are more than 10 years older and having $1bn cost & profit transactions till date and having sole product, no afcourse not. for business mobiles there will not be any comparison for e series, pda's and bb at current market

...... moreActually, I am using gmail on my bold, and i wont really save any big file onto my phone, as i prefer to save it to my hard disk at home, will you really save lots of photos on your phone?
If yes, so what happen after you contract ends? you transfer to another iphone? ooops, I forgot iphone doesn't support bluetooth transfer, and you will have to use itune to do that, won't you?, which i think it's quicker and easier to save on a hard disk.
Anonymous, 17 Aug 2009Trying out Tom Tom which was released for iPhone in Australia and New Zealand yesterday.
An... moreI donít know what is your age group is but while looking at your fantasy thoughts I would tell you something, this is the third phone from apple, rather 1st with minor changes. Nokia and black berry are in the industry of business phones from ages and while considering mobile gsm industry, it will be a joke to compare apple with nokia or bb.
No doubt iphone is a gr8 toy to play and keep as a standby but it canít be a business or perfect mobile, as i told you do some research , out of 76% age group of iphone users is 18-25 !
