Jrf, 03 Aug 2009Hi! I'll try to answer both comments here: first off, from what I've read multitasking on a ph... moreMulti tasking means running more than one app at the same time. That's regardless whether it's a native or 3rd party app. DirecTV app is a 3rd party app as well. I can open my DirecTV app, choosing which TV programs I want to record (remotely) and still keep my music player on. While listening to music and setting up TV shows to record on my DirecTV app, I can have application updates running in the background as well. So those are already 3 tasks running at the same time on the iphone. That is multi tasking. Again, multi tasking is not a battery efficient feature. So the iphone's UI is designed in a way that it would let you run multiple apps at the same time only on apps that make sense to run at the same time, but it closes and prevents you to run multiple apps that does not make sense to run at the same time. That explains why it does not need or have a task manager. It can open, close and reopen apps even faster than phones with multi tasking features where it requires you open its file manager first to be able go back to whichever app you were working on.
As for affordability. I am only saying the truth. The iphone, combined by it's data plan, app store and itunes, can be expensive to some consumers. And people use that to pull down the iphone, saying that its data plan is too expensive, that all apps should be free, that they should not be paying for music or videos, etc. We all know that the iphone does not support piracy, and that the iphone wants to give compensation to app developers. In return, we get high quality music, videos and tons and tons of apps.
SE "Rachael" is also another SE phone to look out for. It sports an even bigger screen, and will have Android as its OS (Satio will have symbian). I am going to be torn between Satio, Rachael and Iphone 4G. Samsung, Nokia and HTC high end phones do not seem to support US 3G frequencies. They only give US consumers their 2nd rate phones, so I won't even bother with them. SE, Palm and Apple devices are more geared for US high end phone enthusiasts.

Like i said it takes 15 seconds to do an exchange and be powered back up.

If i had to exchange a battery by 3:00 by the time i get home little has been used from the new one by the time i exchange later and recharge the weak one before i go to sleep at 10:30 or so.
My heavy usage is mostly at work.

You are wrong.

All you need to do is simply stop using it and put it on sleep mode, and you'll be fine. You won't miss any calls that way.
Anonymous, 03 Aug 2009Yeah real pain, takes like 15 seconds to exchange for a fully charged spare and be back up and... moreYou'll lose more than 15 seconds when you exchange batteries. First of all, you have to turn your phone off, then open the back cover, then pull out the battery, and then put in your spare battery. That is already like a minute. Then you need to turn on the phone which takes another minute, or even more, for it to boot up, then it needs another 20 seconds to search for a signal. So as you can see, it takes more than 15 seconds. More like 2 minutes. Recharging is more practical I think. But either way is alright of course. Whichever works for you better, do it.

Either way, you still have to recharge your batteries, and now you have two batteries to recharge. Better yet, I could get those juice packs which doubles the iphone's battery life. Good thing about it is, you don't need to remove the batttery and you can recharge both the iphone's battery and its juice pack together. So there.
can i ask your opinion b4 buying this phone. is this a good phone? compare to omnia?
Anonymous, 03 Aug 2009I have always bought spare chargers for all my phone's going back sixteen years, except my fi... moreI too buy spare chargers its just that they're usually for the car and home, buying more because your phone doesnt last the time you need it really sucks, not because of the money spent, but it seems as its money wasted on a phone that u bought to satisfy ur need of "work on the go". Anyways, my only complaint about the iPhones battery life is that (from what I've read) is that you need to recharge it or keep it connected most of the time, especially for using internet and vids and camera and apps which are the main reasons I'd buy it, if they make it better than that will be perfect, other than that, like I've said before, I actually like the 3gs, just not the other 2.
Brenda, 03 Aug 2009If you do not consider web browsing and listening to music at the same time a multi tasking fe... moreHi! I'll try to answer both comments here: first off, from what I've read multitasking on a phone involves running numerous 3rd party apps on it at the same time and being able to switch between them without closing them, the iPhone does open and run apps really fast and may seem to multitask but when you press the home button it closes the app, music players are abke to run in the background on many basic phones so to say that the iPhone can do that doesnt convince me of its capabilties of multitasking, which is why they made the push notification system for the new SW. And second, what I meant is I hate people saying that stuff about money because people always try to insult you by saying "oh you are too poor to buy the iPhone" which I know isnt what you said, but that was my complaint about those comments. And BTW, the satio seems awesome but I really hate the fact it uses SE proprietary connector, because all of mine would get really loose after a few months. Anyway, I too will await the 4G iPhone, here in mexico we just got the 3gs which seems to be the better deal between the two iPhones available. So anyways, pleasure talkin' to ya!

How else would i charge my spare,in a phone.Exchange sometimes during the day and at night put the dead one back in for a recharge. Now with my n97 and its strong battery 1500 mah, there will be no need for exchanging.

Switching batteries is a pain, pulling the phone apart while you're balancing bits and pieces on your knee and you'd have to do it several times when you want to charge the spare and again when you want to use it.
It can also wipe all your call records on some phones and you can miss calls while you are off the air,
I have a Kensington battery and it pretty much gives me a full charge when I'm out of the office or away from my car, there is no need to turn off the iPhone you can plug it in during a call.
Besides this is a pretty poor excuse, 99.9% of people probably couldn't care less.
