JRF, 03 Aug 2009I would also like to comment about what someone said about "the iPhone is for people who can a... moreI am correct in saying that the iphone is for those who can afford it. The iphone is a high maintenance phone. Data plan is required, which is an expensive plan to most people. Not all apps are free either, and the iphone does not support piracy, and a lot of low income symbian and winmo users complain about it, LOL. So as you can see, owning an iphone means spending extra every month so you can make use of what it offers and avail HIGH QUALITY products. Having money and being practical is a good thing. I didn't buy the iphone just so I can have the iphone. I want to be able to have internet access any time and utilize useful apps. So I am not paying extra every month for data plan just because I can afford it. I use my iphone a lot, hence, I need to make sure I can recharge it when its battery goes low. So I didn't buy those chargers just because I can afford it. All smartphones with processors as powerful as the iphone's would always have battery issues.
JRF, 03 Aug 2009I don't think listening to music and using the web is multitasking as even a simple Sony Erics... moreIf you do not consider web browsing and listening to music at the same time a multi tasking feature, what would you call it then? Two tasks at the same time? LOL. Switching apps on the iphone is so seamless and fast that there is no need to have multiple apps running at the same time, which would drain battery life faster anyway, except those apps that do make sense to be open and running at the same time, like music player and internet for instance. I'm not a blind iphone fan. I know that it has missing features, but I know very well that its good features outweighs its missing features. I also know that its missing features are really quite impractical in the first place, and not really being used by everyone (like video calling). As for my next purchase, I'm really considering the SE Satio, for it supports US 3G frequencies. But of course I have to personally demo it first to check out its UI for myself. But that plan could well be changed if the next gen iphone 4G proves to have better display resolution and add more useful and practical features. So we'll see. But Satio really looks promising for me.

If you want factual information on specs, simply read the SPECIFICATIONS tab for the iphone 3GS. Also, read the official GSM review here as well. Or, visit the Apple website for the walkthrough video. Stop the pretense would ya.
JRF, 03 Aug 2009I would also like to comment about what someone said about "the iPhone is for people who can a... moreI have always bought spare chargers for all my phone's going back sixteen years, except my first one where the only car charger available was a $600 car kit.
Now if you use your phone for business and being off the air can lose you money spending $10 or $20 on a back up charger is a no brainer.
If such a vast sum is beyond your reach try Ebay.
Just one other point - i've heard some of these have over-heating issue's? Any truth in this?
Craig, 03 Aug 2009Thanks, yes i did realise that, and points taken, i think i will buy a 3gs sometime this week,... moreNo prob! Good luck! and enjoy your purchase, as long as it fills your needs than you don't have to listen to others complain and insult one thing or another :)
I would also like to comment about what someone said about "the iPhone is for people who can afford it and afford to buy all the chargers you need" (something like that) I really really think that comments about "iPhone is for people with money" are just bull. I can garantee that most people with money these days don't want to waste it on anything just because you can. I, for example, can easily afford the iPhone either full priced or contract, but I don't think the fact that spending all that money I earned with my energy at work on a phone plus a charger for the car, house and office just to keep it working for a day is the smartest thing. I surely wouldn't brag about it either. It's like saying that you like wasting your money. I would agree that the 3GS is better than other phones including better than the 3G and 1st iPhone, but I don't like the fact that its battery is to weak to support the phone for one full day.
And also, if you're a Nokia fan boy or a SE fanboy, or anything like that, and want to succesfully bash the iPhone, make sure you make a point that really matters, megapixels are irrelivent if the camera's sensor is too small to make good quality pictures so I dont know, just make sure you know what you're saying.

victor, 02 Aug 2009Does it mean the iphone 3gs does not have bluetooth support as in sending of files from one ph... moreNo it doesn't send files via bluetooth and it hasn't since the 1st generation iPhone. Still the 3GS is pretty cool. Being the only one to support 3MPX with video recording at VGA 30FPS and MMS it features most of what it was missing in the beginning. People would have to jailbreak their iPhones to get the most out of it but I honestly would say that this one isn't that much of a dissapointment. I agree, I'm not impressed with the "revolutionary phone of the future" that can't send my friend/gf/brother a pic or a ringtone via bluetooth, but hey, with everything else it has, it doesn't matter. I'll let that one pass.

Brenda, 02 Aug 2009The N95's web browser does not even come close to the iphone's. The N95's browser is too slow... moreI don't think listening to music and using the web is multitasking as even a simple Sony Ericsson C902 phone can do that. But, just so you know, there's a vid on youtube about an app that helps you multitask for real except I think it's only for jailbroken iPhones. Pitty that the iPhone has to be jailbroken in order to fully satisfy some people. Still, to the other guy, my mom has the N95-3 and I own the iPod touch, I bet you anything that you'll enjoy the web better on the iPhone, flash support is non-existent but doesn't really bother me as YouTube vids play perfectly, even better than on the Nokia. I'm not a Nokia/Apple/other brand-fan boy. I just really like tech stuff and I can assure you the web is awesome on the Safari browser. But, if you don't want to lose some of the functionality of the N95 than get the Nokia 5800 as it's pretty much the same thing. BUT the iPhone is definatly better for web. Good luck on your next purchase!

The N95's browser is too slow. Zooming and panning is not as easy as the iphone's either. The bigger display of the iphone trumps the N95 as well in web browsing. Yes, iphone can multi task. I am posting this comment using my iphone and listening to its music player at the same time :) By the looks of your comment, I think you're just here to whine. Bitter perhaps that your Nokia flagship has been toppled by the iphone. Please stick with your N95. It's not our loss :)
I ask as i'm thinking of getting a 3GS with a view to upgrading from the 95 8gb, obv if the Nokia is better i'll stay put..

Well maybe that is what you do all day, lol. Well just because the iphone does not support the feature that you often use, it does not mean that it can't impress on other things that it does. Some peole here don't care if they post dumb comments as long as they can pull the iphone down :)
