Anonymous, 05 Jul 2009i have a third party software which works wonders for visual voicemail on my nokia 5800! dude ... moreDude before you make statements such as the following:-
"and lets come to the basic....try forwarding ur cool inbox messages to ur girlfriend...ur stuck... as ur great and expensive iphone cannot forward messages..."
I suggest you take a little bit of time to research what the OS 3.0 update brought to the iPhone, pay particular attention to the part about "Message Forwarding".
Sometimes your arguments make better sense and are more convincing when you don't resort to just making stuff up.
So how many games has ID software made for your 5800?
Anonymous, 05 Jul 2009i have a third party software which works wonders for visual voicemail on my nokia 5800! dude ... moreHere is an example of the mentality of some on this site, take the following statement from someone who obviously has no idea what they are talking about.
"i have a third party software which works wonders for visual voicemail on my nokia 5800! dude i wouldnt pay those extra dollars for a visual voicemail inbuilt on my phone when i get it much cheaper elsewhere!"
This statement is so flawed it's hard to know where to start.
Let me get this straight, you are saying that you got free third party software that you installed on your phone company's network to enable the pushing of visual voicemail messages out to your 5800!
That really is a remarkable achievement, why don't you go and find out what visual voicemail is before you make such ludicrous claims.

Telcos don't need to put a clause into their contracts about about early upgrades fees, as this is covered in the early termination process. Basically if your wanting to upgrade early, your terminating your current agreement, so it's all covered under the one umbrella. Why repeat yourself twice in a contract.
Simply, if you want to upgrade your mobile early, then you need to terminate/cancel your current contract, pay it out and take on a new contract. Isn't that simple??
It's at telcos discreation to whether they want to discount or even waive the termintation fees completely. They don't have too as it's your choice on terminating a contract.
I personlly don't like fees and charges myself and I totally agree with you that they are steep, however I understand my agreement with them prior to signing up with them, so I expect fees if I'm going to amend my contract terms.
I also never said I didn'nt like my iPhone 3G 16GB, I totally loved it and everything about it. I said I personally choose to upgrade to the iPhone 3G S 32GB as I wanted more memory, so to me exiting cost was worth it for me as I was getting what I wanted. If the iPhone 3G S only came out again in 8 & 16GB's then I wouldn'nt had bothered with the upgrade. That's what I meant by you have to see if it is worth it to you to upgrade or not!!
the phone is exactly the same like the 3g, iphone just added stuff that was already in phones so many years ago their just commin to the 21st century, the S in the iphone 3gs stands for iphone 3gsh!t
i have a third party software which works wonders for visual voicemail on my nokia 5800! dude i wouldnt pay those extra dollars for a visual voicemail inbuilt on my phone when i get it much cheaper elsewhere!!!and with the features not mentioned and the much cheaper rate nokia 5800 kicks iphones ass...when ur bluetooth doesnt connect to ur friends phone and u want to transfer stuff from his phone then ull understand the importance of wat i said...or try going on a vacation to greenland with ur family to enjoy the cold there...when ur phone doesnt work there due to lack of touch appreciation then ull understand...or even try ur fav radio channel on ur phone...and lets come to the basic....try forwarding ur cool inbox messages to ur girlfriend...ur stuck... as ur great and expensive iphone cannot forward messages...infact people like you should think of getting a message forwarder first and then think of visual voicemail dumb fellow...as that is more basic and more regular needed in day to day use...till u figure out any further lamer ways to prove that iphone is better than the 5800...all the best...hope u dont have much of a problem with ur featureless phone
Allan, 04 Jul 2009Yes thats right, nokia doesn't make computers, but they do change the designs for their smartp... moreiphone is great and powerful, yeah it overheats but im pretty thrilled with it!LOL, atleast it is well powered enough like a pc, the only difference of it from a pc is it doesnt have a mouse and an exhaust fan!LOL not like n97 who is a crippled phone!LOL
n97 is just a pretty good 5800 upgrade! but not like iphone and those iphone competitors, not like that.
nokia e90 and n97 are only nokia's smartphones.
n82 and n95 are far being a smartphone now. maybe 3 years ago, but smartphones today are different from smartphones of the past few years. so dont call those other nokias a smartphone. nokia is only known in midrange phones, they are winning the mid range phones market, but in smartphones they are far behind, apple, samsung, blackberry imate, palm and htc.
iPhone 3G S Upgrades, 05 Jul 2009iPhone 3G upgrades to iPhone 3GS through your network.
I'm seeing a few people arguing and ... moreLook at what your writing.
I personally upgraded to the new iPhone 3GS 32GB from the iPhone 3G 16GB as I've always said that if they released a 32GB memory iPhone then I would get it as I wanted this amount of available memory.
Are you trying to say that even though you agree with these fees even though you didnt like the iphone 3g 16gb, i believe that you wrote above that theres nothing wrong with the new iphone?
Do you really need to upgrade to the new iPhone 3GS if it really only offers 4 more features that the current the iPhone 3g with the new firmware offers. Ask yourself, do you really need the iPhone 3GS, has it got what you are looking for and need that your current 3g doesn't offer.
I have the 8gb iPhone and its not fair having to pay extra for an upgrade, thats torture. And also the fact that im paying a small fee for this phone its not worth it. All telco's are ripoffs. and no my contract never said anything about an upgrade fee i spent 5 hours reading and re-reading my contract and never did i find such a thing. Its rubbish. its somethhing they must have pulled out from the rear end. i believe you lose money by having fees.
I notice today while using the directions part of the google map on the 3gs that it give directions using wlaking, car and bus routes. Is this new to the 3gs or did I just did not notice it before in the 3g iphones.

But blame it on the blood sucking new iPhone 3.0 firmware.
We need a new update pronto as this new software kills battery easily.
Allan, 04 Jul 2009Well maybe you iphone users can stay off the n97 forum. Lots of you boys are always there, sla... moreHi Allan,
I think you are right, people who don't have nokia phones should stay off the nokia post. It is kind of dumb to talk down another phone, unless you own or work for the phone company and you are trying to bost your companies sale. If it is not putting money in your pocket, then what is the point. Anyway, the truth is, there are no perfect phones, every phone is lacking something. If there was really one perfect phone, then there would be the need for only one phone ever. So lets all enjoy the phones we have and try to focus on the features of the phones and have real talks as to how the phones can be made better, so the phone companies can put it in the next models.

Sorry, but a phone with such limited functionality loses out to the iPhone.
no radio??? no secondary camera??? bluetooth nonfunctional for other phones??? but good processor no doubt!over all i would still rate it below nokia 5800 and the new samsung omnia hd! good memory(16 gb/32 gb) no doubt but nokia 5800 functions as smooth as domperignon with 16 gb class 6 memory card(transcend)! overall too high a price for the package!!!

I wouldnt mind that.
Can't these rediculous phone companies let us do that, so much for for customer service, i believe its weakening.
Okay im not complaing im just wondering why we cant pay off two phones, whats wrong with paying two phones ive always done that and they wont let cause im on iphone and regret it soo badly i shouldve gotten a Nokia 5800.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2009yeah, the Apple i-phone 3GS is great isn't it?
what a joke!
nice one Apple!
Because they updated the standard disclaimer which covers pretty much any electrical equipment to include the iPhone 3GS.
That 0-35 standard has been around for decades and you'll find exactly the same thing on any manufacturers website.
Where are some hard facts?
All there is so far is some very sketchy anecdotal evidence and ONE PHOTO FROM FRANCE!
