For more than a decade, Kim Jung Yeon only bought phones from Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc., passing on best sellers made by non-Korean companies such as Motorola Inc.’s Razr. Her loyalty ended with Apple Inc.’s iPhone.
“The iPhone has a cool design and I love the feel and grip of the phone,” said the 37-year-old Web designer in Seoul, who bought the device last year, and enjoys using applications about food recipes. “I don’t see any reason why I should return to LG or Samsung phones again if I buy another smartphone.”
Samsung and LG, the world’s two-largest handset makers after Nokia Oyj, can no longer count on home-field advantage as they play catch up in the fastest-growing segment of the $163 billion global industry. A year after Apple’s phone debuted in Korea, LG is reeling from record phone losses while Samsung this week unveiled the Nexus S phone equipped with Google Inc.’s latest Android operating system to win back customers.
“Korean companies are going to face a tough situation overseas going forward, given how much share they are losing at home,” said Han Eui Lim, a consultant at ROA Group Inc. in Seoul. “Especially in the case of LG, it’s very concerning.”
Samsung and LG shares have both underperformed the benchmark Kospi Index this year. Samsung has gained 11 percent and LG has declined 7.8 percent in 2010, compared with the index’s 16 percent gain. Apple shares have surged 51 percent, helping it overtake Microsoft Corp. as the world’s most valuable technology company.
Nexus S announced, and what kind of comparisons are hitting the web? Nexus S vs HTC? Nexus S vs Droid? Nexus S vs Nokia N8?
Nope, it's Nexus S vs iPhone. Guess we all know who they still think is the phone to beat.

phone 4U are bounch of cowboys avoid at any cost
bad experience with them
this phone simply sucks
no flash player, is that a joke?
nothing unique apart from loads of apps
why someone want to have more than 20 apps in their phone????
I love this phone. I work in Phones 4U Truro and bought a Galaxy S, and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I see my colleagues with the iPhone and sometimes I have to go into the cupboard and cry a few tears or punch somethibg to make mee feel better. Retina display haunts my dreams, and the Apple logo seems to be burned into my eyes during the day. There is no escape. Sometimes I think the pain of my misinformed decision will follow me until the trauma becomes too much and I am found cold and alone, mumbling about Face Time in the foetal position in doorway of the Apple store. Heed my warning, I would not wish this Galaxy of misery on anyone.
Interesting, Nokia Director of Design Strategy says that Apple iPhone OS is “beautifully elegant” and “simple to learn", but on Android “We’re interested in platforms where we can create value, and from the point of view of the device manufacturer, Android doesn’t do that right now”.

• Bluetooth: Only to other iPhones (If you want to copy your contacts from another phone you're upgrading from, it won't work)
• Can you copy you're contacts from Exchange to phone itself? No
• Use as USB drive and copy Word documents to the phone and use? No
• Battery life: 20 hour standby if you're lucky
• Does the alarm make a switch off while you're on a call? No
• Voice directions? No
• Does the map scroll or you're position while driving? You're position (I.e. you can drive off the map)
PS: This was sent from a iCrap4 - I am really disappointed and truly think that my Nokia E71 was FAR better
No dude! what are you talking who said that iphone is King? There's no King in this industry. Just Look at the Rate of this phone just 6.5 and look at the others some them is more than 8.4 what will you gonna say for that? I guess you iphone or something that's thought this is the king. But I'll tell you. There's No king. Even if there was King I'm pretty sure that iphone is not the king. Sorry for my bad English
If someone has't used an iPhone he doesn't know how good it is.It is rated 6.5 from non owners and it's a loss of time to try to explain how good it is and what it is capable of.
I think iphone4GS be better, I hope thinner and has Indicator light for missed calls SMS. Also longer battery and replacement battery
