Sold my n97 mini regret not getting iphone 3gs since the price with n97 mini are almost the same last year! Never mind i thinking of samsung galaxy s, desire or iphone 4 for my next phone
ATT is no go in US - does not work, so no iPhone for anyone in my family.
Problems with the iPhone:
1. MicroSim-what happens if your iPhone screws up? You can't just put your sim card into any other phone can you, much less backup your contacts as easily.
2. Embedded battery-what happens if your iPhone battery screws up? Battery not so easily interchangeable.
3. Facetime only over Wi-Fi and from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4? You gotta be kidding me right?
I could add mmore, but I'll just wait til the phone comes out so my opinion is based on facts.
For now, do yourself a favour and get an Android 2.1 or above =o)
I don't think people know that Apple only has a 0.68% of the cell phone market while Nokia has a whopping 47.22%.
First and foremost cell phones were made as communication devices, and in terms of call clarity Nokia cell phones far out perform Apple cell phones. This is a fact.
So if call clarity is important to you I would look into Nokia phones. Even Samsung cell's have better call quality.
I personally own an Apple iPhone 3GS and can say that call quality sucks, and the phone lacks the competition in so many categories.
The iPhones are mostly hype and really are just an image thing. That's the truth.
I can upgrade to the 4G in a couple weeks but why, when the Nokia N8 and many others have way more to offer.
I think being able to add more memory like 32GB with a microSD card is a great feature.
I think being able to hook up my cell phone directly to my home theater and flat screen TV via HDMI cable, and watch HD video directly from my cell phone is a great feature.
The Nokia comes with a real Xenon flash for low light photos just like digital cameras have, while the iPhone has a simple LED flash which is basically useless.
All you Apple lovers who always dis Nokia and others really have no idea what they are talking about. Just status/image followers.
Wake up....Nokia owns the cell phone market for one reason....they make the best, highest quality cell phones and have been doing it for a long time.
Statistics don't lie.
Why don't all you iPhone lovers do a little research to see actually what is the best, most feature packed cell phone, instead of listening to all the Apple hype and propaganda. I must admit they are marketing genius's.
Remember, I currently own the much hyped iPhone 3GS, and I'm not impressed with it.
Here's a start.
Open your minds and horizons, and take your heads out of your ass's and research your next cell phone.
Don't be a follower.
xxx, 20 Jun 2010or what?
on my htc sprint 4g i can make video call to any device with that technology not jus... moreI guess the 3GS would just use Fring, which has had videocalls on iPhones since last year.
I wonder if Fring will use the front camera API's Apple provides so you can make video calls instead of just receiving them like you can now.
Skype should also be able to use the front camera although they are pretty slow, it took them a year to release the N97 version.
guyz im an apple rep just recieved my demo unit and they are amazing the new 4.0 is sooooo much better battery life is actually on par with a normal phone 3g recption is also alot better 10/10 apple
xxx , 20 Jun 2010my point is that without nokia technology apple wouldn't be able to start production of any of... moreAnd how sure are you of that? Just because Apple just ventured in the mobile phone industry, it does not mean they don't have the brains or the resources to have come up with those said technologies. Just so happened that nokia came before Apple in the mobile phone industry. You just want to discredit Apple and the success that they had attained because you are bitter that Apple is growing and growing while nokia is losing and losing :)
xxx, 20 Jun 2010or what? on my htc sprint 4g i can make video call to any device with that technology not jus... moreFacetime is a new native video calling platform out of the box. You do not need 3rd party apps to initiate it. It is only available on the iphone4. But like I said, Apple made it open for other phonemakers. You'd probably say that your video calling experience with your phone is smooth, but that is not the case with the rest of us. 3gs does not have the hardware requirements for facetime. And look. A lot of people obviously do not mind. Ask the 600,000+ people who preordered the iphone4. It is what it is. If you don't like it, then leave it. Why dwell in here?
Anonymous, 20 Jun 2010Just like Nokia wouldn't be able to put together those said technology if not for Isaac Newton... moremy point is that without nokia technology apple wouldn't be able to start production of any of it's iphone models, without technology such as gsm, uma, umts hsdpa, hsdpu, gprs wlan, the technology that's used in every mobil device in today's mobil device.
crap i am so so so sorry you couldn't make a call with your iphone because it have the worst voice call on any mobil device.
Anonymous, 20 Jun 2010What? Make us pay for things that are free? Like what? It's either you can afford it or not... moreor what?
on my htc sprint 4g i can make video call to any device with that technology not just the same device, like iphone4 to iphone 4
my other half iphone 3gs wouldn't be able to use face-time app.
I really don't understand people when they post in here and whine about the iphone's price or the iphone's missing features as if anyone is forcing them to buy or like the iphone. The only explanation for this is jealousy and insecurity.
igo, 20 Jun 2010yes, it may be an iphone, but its way too expensive, there are cheaper phones offering higher ... moreWell if we think that the brand name is worth it, then it is. If you think bt transfer is more important than the retina display or the gyroscope, then go somewhere else.
xxx, 20 Jun 2010all that will happen when hell frezzzzz over. in japan this video calls system work perfect, ... moreWhat? Make us pay for things that are free? Like what? It's either you can afford it or not. Do not whine in here if you Apple doesn't fit your needs. Just shows that you are jealous of the iphone's success.
yes, it may be an iphone, but its way too expensive, there are cheaper phones offering higher spec actually, they are just expensive phones, thats all, its nit the phone you are buying actually, its the brand's name you are buying, im nit against iphone lovers though, i just thought they are way too expensive with simple specs
xxx, 20 Jun 2010you couldn't make an iphone without nokia technology, like gsm, edge, umts, hsdta, lite/4g. t... moreJust like Nokia wouldn't be able to put together those said technology if not for Isaac Newton, Alexander Graham Bell, Albert Einstein, etc. So what's your point? If it's not Nokia or Apple it would be somebody else. As a consumer, I don't care who came up with what first. If I like the device, if it works for me, and if I can afford it, I'll buy it.
I just noticed that on the apple site. That they indicated a 1ghz A4 processor for the ipad. And they didn't indicate that on the iphone 4. I was just wondering if they actually used the same processor?
Anonymous, 20 Jun 2010Notice how he conveniently leaves out things like processor speed, RAM, screen resolution etc.... moreapple's A4 CPU couldn't match up with intel i7 cpu.
Troy, 20 Jun 2010I don't know why Nokia fans come on here for maybe there jealous or pretending to hate the iph... moreyou couldn't make an iphone without nokia technology, like gsm, edge, umts, hsdta, lite/4g.
take away all those useless apps from your iphone & the iphone is nothing.
