I am not impressed at all. I would expect something more from iPhone and looking at specification it isn't 4G phone but still 3G. Lookg like it only 4 generation of iPhone. Comparing it to Nokia N900 with Maemo5 (Linux) I would buy Nokia....
Also video conference is only through wifi and only to an another iphone 4.So lame and outdated.
i have just known that 4g is just its name, this phone DOESN'T support 4th generation wireless networks. It will probably be outdated in less than a year, seriously apple sucks, but some people have closed eyes and are not thinking probably.
Love the phone, usinging a htc atm, not really liked the iphones before now but this looks promising..... just cant justify the price for a phone :S????
khan, 16 Jun 2010i phone4 needs a micro sim.. can any body tell me what is micro sim,Development of the micro-SIM
The micro-SIM was developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute along with SCP, 3GPP (UTRAN/GERAN), 3GPP2 (CDMA2000), ARIB, GSMAssociaton (GSMA SCaG and GSMNA), GlobalPlatform, Liberty Alliance, and the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) for the purpose of fitting into devices otherwise too small for a mini-SIM card.
The form factor was mentioned in the Dec 1998 3GPP SMG9 UMTS Working Party, which is the standards-setting body for GSM SIM cards, and the form factor was agreed upon in late 2003.
The micro-SIM was created with backwards compatibility in mind. The major issue with backwards compatibility was the contact area of the chip. Retaining the same contact area allows the micro-SIM to be compatible with the previous, larger SIM readers through the use of plastic cutout surrounds. The SIM was also designed to run at the same speed (5 MHz) as the previous version.
The chairman of EP SCP, Dr. Klaus Vedder, said
"With this decision, we can see that ETSI has responded to a market need from ETSI customers, but additionally there is a strong desire not to invalidate, overnight, the existing interface, nor reduce the performance of the cards. EP SCP expect to finalise the technical realisation for the third form factor at the next SCP plenary meeting, scheduled for February 2004."
I hope this answers your question.

Fenris_uy, 16 Jun 2010Why is TV-out listed as a feature of this phone when it doesn't have it?
You have to buy a ... moreLike on the N97?
A separate accessory called a cable?
Maybe with the N97 you can use the cable which came with the N95?
Does a 2.5mm plug fit in a 3.5mm socket?
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2010So iPhone 4..........Essentially a catch up with other devices on the market? Or maybe more? I... moreSo I wonder why no-one talks about screen resolution anymore?
It was one of the main things all these Android, Symbian, WinMo and other fanboys used to crow about, once screen resolutions overtook the iPhone.
Now they are very quiet as 960x640 is the highest resolution EVER seen on a phone.
btw...wht is the deal with microsim?? hw is it diferent from the genuine sim? nd any idea if they r available in india???
Why is TV-out listed as a feature of this phone when it doesn't have it?
You have to buy a separated accessory to get the TV-out option
a few words from eldar of mobile-review.com( one of the best critics in the mobile world)
"what made me recall this product is an ongoing discussion about the Retina display, which some call a marketing gem, whereas some are not convinced about its characteristics – in a word, all the polemics out there. It is Apple's classic PR style: to let people knock their heads over the features, argue heavily about who's right and who's wrong. This benefits the product and its sales. In my opinion, the display is good, but nothing beyond that. This is casual for Apple; just remember that the iPhone 3Gs screen has been inferior to that in many other models for the last year, which however had no impact on the sales. It's the set of features that people are buying, not the display alone. Hence one need not fight over whose screen is better. The display has to be on an average level entertained in the industry to date. If it's better – that's good, while nothing terrible could happen if it were just on a generally accepted level. The screen in the iPhone 4 is slightly above today's average level and typical for the early 2011. In a sense, it's good and there's no point arguing about that."
Will I be able to cut down my current simcard to the same size and shape of the micro sim card and still use it as normal in the new iPhone 4?
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2010You are right. You're so smart. We still love the iphone though :)You obviously don't get the concept of sarcasm
