This is my first iPhone that I'm considering and the negative posts about the iPhone 4 make me want to defend it even though I've never liked the previous iPhones.
Somehow the childish posts from immature posters force me to take a stand. It's probably because the childish posters use jibberish and incoherent sentences to make false claims.

Also, there are laws in my neighborhood that don't allow me to put the phone on my ear while driving. Therefore, I'll have to use a hands free device to talk.

I have looked at the N8 and you will need more memory to store such large pictures. I learned a long time ago that it's not the megapixels that make a good photo, but the sensor and the optical lens.
I've had AT&T for many years and I've don't have problems in my area -- Los Angeles. I had problems with T-Mobile and Sprint.
I also think that because we live in a free country where people can make decisions based on their own preferences, then many models of phones will thrive. Just like cars...options and features to satisfy the multitude of tastes.
I just happen to like the iPhone 4 over all the other touch-screen phones. The user interface is also very good in the way you interact with the browser, documents, photos, etc. Very innovative UI.

The N8 is a m... moreYa its bulkier but not that its irritating, well I also think its more comfortable in the hand than the new iphone because of its boxy edges, but it also has lots of stuff like the best 12 mp camera on a phone, USB on the go, and lots more that really help u in ur daily life, and it has a very good build quality, it.. Since ur a man with adventures I guess the free ovi maps will help u a lot where ever u are, plus u need a phone with good and reliable battery life which points out to the N8.. The new iphone a bit on the weak side seeing its thinkness, like any wrong move could kill it.. If u wana know more just type Nokia N8 on youtube and ull get everythin about it, ull be impressed by the camera and video capture for ur travels and adventures, u have a nice built in movie and picture editor which is just brilliant, go take a look at it and hope u like it. Ya about AT&T I've heard that they have some dropped calls issue or somthin, well anyways it doesn't matter, from my side I see the N8 as more of a long term investment rather than a burden .. Just check it out bro maybe ull see wat u need :)

I don't like the way the N8 looks, it's bulkier, and AT&T doesn't subsidize. The N8 is a much pricier alternative for me. In fact, the HTC phones look better than the N8, but I don't like those either.

This is the first iPhone that I really like. I like the slick lines, the reduced size, and the combination of features. This phone has a lot of features that I plan to use like the camera with geo-tagging to help me catalog my travels, google maps to help me get to where I'm going, surf the internet at a cafe while away from home, guides for restaurants, museums, and places to visit.
Also, I can capture videos of my adventures in HD. I can communicate by talking, texting, e-mailing, blogging, etc. I can listen to music and play games. So, this is going to be my first iphone and I plan to use it to fit my lifestyle.
The only problem is that my wife and kids want one too, but I can't afford to buy multiple iphones and data plans. The iphone 4 really has all the features I need in a slick looking package.
I agree that when you look at the specs, the iphone doesn't have the best camera or the largest screen or the thinnest profile. However, some of us like the way these features are put together in the iphone 4 and will be buying our first iphone ever.

come on guys you have to admit this iphone is gonna be a great phone. i never owned an iphone be4 cause i hated them and i hated its overrated features, but the new iphone 4 has amazing specs and im seriously thinking to change my htc hd2 for it. now we cannot make fun of the iphone 4.

As i see here, a lot of stupid people write about this phone and Apple in general. If you don't want this phone is ok. If you hate this phone or Apple is ok. But GO AWAY from here and let the rest of us, to have SERIOUS conversations about mobile phones and specifications.

Don't call me a Hypocrite, is Apple giving u money to defend them ? Did u filter the results ? Did u see a couple of Samsungs and a Motorola ? Aren't they thinner ? So no its not the thinnest out there !!
Let's have a test Mr. Hypocrite, u think iphone is really a phone, ill go with u to sea for fishing, and will see who's so called PHONE will have signal, not to mention battery life unless u decided to increase ur iphone's thickness to 50 mm by adding that charging back cover.
Ya they have a marketing strategy but why do u think its good ? Because they deceive people like urself, it looks so good but looks are not impressive to the real world, a smart phone is meant to serve u because its ur communication tool with the world and not to mention emergency calls, real people who got a life need a phone to trust not a gadget to look at and admire its smooth touch UI. Let's be real here people, how many time I should explain myself :s Go love ur Apple products nobody slapped u at ur wrist and said don't buy their products, I'm advising with facts and some people hiding behind their laptops are attacking someone who is trying to show them the truth.
And ya I don't hate Apple but that's the truth about them :s I've used everything out there and I'm speaking through personal experience. Just go put ur iphone beside a samsung wave 8500 or the N8 when it comes, just try and see how they could communicate with the world and how u are trapped in ur iOS bubble. Forgods sake u couldn't do anything in a computer without the itunes, nor use any micro usb charger wen ur battery is out .. U call that communicating ? See the real world mate, stop living in ur own fantasy world.

Again ill say it, Apple makes a big fuss out of small things that make no use in real life, what would u do with these pixels ? Count them ? And I know it makes things clearer but are pixels that messed up that u can't read words on it ? Come on now .. Ull keep bringing up things like the gyro sensor ? Well where would u use that in playing games and watching apps like shaking a bottle of beer.. These things have no use at all mate, todays smartphone question is what would u do out of ur phone ? Not getting stuff that have no use or minimal use.. I can go forever about Apple and there misleading marketing strategy, I'm not trying to make u hate it I just want u to get out of Apple's bubble and see wats going on for real :s
Everyone should know when they are being cheated and tricked, I don't blame anyone Apple is good in doing that specially Job's way of speech to make a big fuss out small stuff that really don't matter..
and about the phone being the thinnest, there are thinner smartphones but between them ihpone would compare the best.. But for real are u that weak ? Can't u carry somthing a bit bigger ? Is it too much of a trouble ?
Again I say this, most importantly is how it fits in ur pocket and palm while using it, and one hand touchscreens are better than 2 hands specially when ur busy with the other hand, and then how comfortable is it while talking on phone which is necessary while speaking on phone for long periods of time, unlike the iphone which has boxy edges that irritates u while talking, that's a fact which I experienced in my previous 3GS which lasted with me less than a month and decided to give it away to my lil bro. These points might seem small but are important through out using the PHONE.
NOTE: This is my opinion and an advice at the same time, if u don't agree its ur choice.
