Man you guys really know how to flame. But before flaming, I think it'd be good for you to know that videocalling IS new...in the united states. Yeah its been in Europe and Asia for years and all that. Not in America
The iphone4 will be more successful than prior iphones. Haters are now in desperation mode just blurting out whatever bad things they can say just to discourage those who have never held an iphone in their hands from getting one. In the end, the iphone will prevail as it always had. Because it's a device that just works, and gives the best user experience.
At the end of the day, after ppl bash the iphone saying its features r nothing new. Its not just about the features or the camera(which it shouldnt matter since ITS JUST FOR FUN!!!!!!). Its mainly in the simplicity of the iOS and how well the apps run on it. Name a phone that can sync up with ur computer with no extra app. or having to get an sd card etc. Ppl dont hate, colaborate.
I-Phone 4 has a micro sim port on it, so is it backward compatible... will i be able to use my old Mini SIM card or i have to get a micro sim from my network provider ?
Blight, 10 Jun 2010Posted this already but had to say it here. I can't vouche for the rest of the world, but I lo... moreVery well said. But I strongly believe that a lot of people, especially those who have used the iphone, already know that. Haters just like to say that "it's already been out there" line in the hopes to discourage those who have never bought or tried the iphone. And then they would promote the device of their choice, lol.
Iphone4 looks like a iPhone3GS that looks like an iPhone3GS that looks like a iPhone2G, oh look! a line of sheep lining up to get the new Iphone4. Or you can get a fake "touchscreen i9++" something or other that looks like a Iphone4 thatlooks like a iPhone3GS that looks like an iPhone3GS that looks like a iPhone2G, most people wouldn't know the difference.
Engineer Man, 10 Jun 2010Because the small percentage of us are computer geeks, enthusiasts, engineers who know technol... moreThats why I like Linux and have Linux phones, you can do so much. iPhone is for wannabe's, "ooh look!, I look so cool with my iPhone in my hand! the sun must really shine out my ass!"
regards to cutting the sim card out, you OBVIOUSLY dont cut the sim card out, its exactly the same as a normal sim card, but you just POP, the gold little chip out, so it is safe for kids! cause you dont cut it out,
Can't wait to buy this phone, at last great features and specs!!! :):)

ouch, my video calling is stopped by the loss of wifi connection!!!
sorry , i dont have iphone4, i just have pc
skype video calling over 3g.
my battery run out faster with that high res TFT display
For those of you who think using a micro-SIM is a big problem,
actually micro-SIM is electrically identical to the mini-SIM in terms of the chip,
only the plastic of the mini-SIM that surrounds the chip makes you think they are electrically different, but that's not the case.
So, you can convert you mini-SIM to micro-SIM in these ways:
(How to create your own Micro SIM card using a chef knife and some scissors)
(Cut My SIM does as its name commands)
And if you watched the keynote by Steve Jobs (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/wwdc10/index.html), you would notice that using micro-SIMs is simply just because they are smaller, so that there is more space left for making the battery a little bit larger, and fitting in other components of the iPhone.
i m going to keep my 3gs.... since i have another 2 nokia phones. maybe try to get another model. instead of iphone 4, because overall, it's d same thing. i'll rather get 1 Andriod phone. Win Win solution, i can have the best of both worlds
Because the small percentage of us are computer geeks, enthusiasts, engineers who know technology like the back of their finger. I've worked in enterprise with microsoft, cisco, apple networking. Their closed & limited hard soft architecture. Even debugging or troubleshooting an apple product becomes an exhaustive, unfriendly unhelpful annoyance. Immature architecture & software gives jobs the ability to be a leading control factor in dictating what users can & can't do with the hardware & soft platform. You end up needing special compiled apps that have to be written in apples weak inferior coding. When you get errors in the os the technically adept person like myself wants the open freedom of being presented with useful debugging code or an ability to fix the fault theirselves.
Posted this already but had to say it here. I can't vouche for the rest of the world, but I love when people come at the video conferencing portion of the iPhone 4 and bash it. It's true that many phones have forward facing cameras and capable of doing video conferencing. But here in the US I would really like someone, and I'm being serious and not sarcastic, to list for me all the US released mobile phones and/or US mobile phone companies that offer any kind of video conferencing for everyday use now. Thats why I love to hear the "oh, apple is just bringing out old technology thats already been here" speeches. Well God d*mn it, it's about time someone put that old technology to everyday capability around here. Enjoy hating, but please folks... hate responsibly :).
