sally, 06 Nov 2012is it better to update ios 6? im using iphone 4s.If you don't care so much about losing maps support from Google then the answer is yes, it is better to update the iOS from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1. Updating to iOS 6 allows the 4S do things that the 5 can do, like Panorama mode on the Camera App, updating apps on the App Store without asking for your Apple ID password, a much refined email client, faster browsing experience in Safari, doing Facetime through 3G and WiFi, etc.
The only fault I see with iOS 6 until now is the (humorously disorientating) maps app from Apple themselves. Well, they've already fired the senior VP responsible for that so I take that as Apple's initiative to finally fix Apple Maps.
Nothing compared to apple, so me people are free don't no what to do and commenting unnecessary things about iphone. Apple is uncomparable.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2012i cannot activate my iPhone 4S, always says activation is temporarily unavailable, even in iTu... moreFortunately, you don't actially need iTunes nowadays to activate your iPhone. All you need is a strong and stable WiFi connection, and an existing Apple I.D.
The problem may be due to server congestion, as what would sometimes happen to some users after a major iOS update. You just have to keep trying.
Hope that helps.
murali, 04 Nov 2012when i am connecting my ipod shuffle, its recognizing to the same usb port. But its not recogn... moreSo you have isolated the problem down to your iPhone?
When you connected your iPhone to your PC for the first time ever you may have noticed that a device driver for it was installed. The same would also happen should you connect your iPhone for the first time after updating/installing iTunes and after updating your iPhone's OS. You have to find that driver and remove it, so that a new one would be installed once you connect your iPhone to your PC again. The only thing that puzzles me though, is that if you completely uninstalled iTunes before with all the other applications and programs (like Apple Software Updater, Bonjour, etc.) the new driver that got installed after you installed iTunes again should have fixed the problem already.
Anyway, you will be able to find other alternatives by just looking the problem up online. Tthere are plenty of discussion groups that deal with that same issue. That was what I did when my friend had issues with his.
Hope that helps.
Anonymous, 05 Nov 2012Do I need to contact my Phone provider to set up voicemail with 4S?You may have to contact your service provider as the iPhone has Visual Voicemail, which is network-dependent and also only when you are on an iPhone tariff. With Visual Voicemail, you can quickly know who left you a message and quickly jump from one message to the next (and even scrobble to different parts of a message). If you are not on an iPhone tariff, there is always the regular voicemail service.
