Thats for one defective phone. ON top of that, that defective phone might not have that problem, the problems might vary, so out of all the defective phones out there, only a few have a battery problem.

Without having to do rocket science, one can therefore infer that your initial assumption is probably faulty.
Defect rates are probably very very low, but agreed the phone should be replaced.

I think 1 in 10000 people will get your issue. You probably got one with a weak battery. I;ve heard this before, very rare, but 1 in 10000 is still 240 000 people will get this issue, if you sell 24 million units.
