Note 5 is a different device as category (is a phablet) but also as mentality, note 5 is considered as the "swiss multi knife" of smartphones. Has beem also according many reviews the best phablet for 2015. I have 6s and iam very satisfied but in your case i think you should wait for iphone 7/7 plus or note 6,both will bw released in a few months

I would rather go with the phone with longer lasting battery, more ram, more mega pixels front and back, water and dust resistant and many other better specs. Yes, I'm talking about the Samsung Galaxy. Side by side specs, the galaxy blows away the iphone. That's jus my opinion. Ultimately it come down to preference. If you do decide on an apple, I believe you should get it through Verizon over other carriers, again just my opinion. Good luck.
