Im not from USA, but I have some friends working there and I wanted them to buy me an Iphone 6s plus on the release date, or a few days later. but there is not a sim free variant phone for preorder, and my friends are leaving US in the beginning of October . But I've read on forums that if I choose to preorder ex. T-mobile Variant and don't make contract ( full payment ) that the phone will be unlocked. Is it safe to buy Iphone , do you have any info about this, because I don't wanna spend over 900 $ for a locked phone that I can't use , Thanks in advance.

Can someone explain to me how it can work out cheaper to buy the phone outright and take sim only plan? I calculated 700 for iphone 6s plus 64GB and then sim only deal 20.99 Per month for 4gb data, unlimited calls and texts on EE which works out at 1203.76 totaly cost over 24m. But if I go contract 229 for the phone and its 41.99 Per month and I get 4gb data, unlimited calls and texts Total cost 1236.76 only saving about 30. Is this correct? Prices taken from CPW site and Apple site.
