whitedragon, 07 Jan 2017Certainly not a troll or fanboy; and I state 'iPhone is FAR from best camera' (in a phone). ... moreOne thing, the iPhone has a smaller sensor but also a lower resolution. Doesn't it mean it has bigger pixels?
whitedragon, 07 Jan 2017Certainly not a troll or fanboy; and I state 'iPhone is FAR from best camera' (in a phone). ... moreI watched many comparison videos and all of them favor the Xperia Xz except for low light situations the Xz has accurate colors, doesn't oversaturate or make artificial scenes

Its saving graces are the software and its white balance.
Actually the white balance goes a long way to making it a 'great camera',.. but nothing can get around that small sensor size.
Vs what the Note 7 had, as an example, which shared tech from canon (for focus) and Sony (for ISO/noise control using a 'backside illuminated sensor'(BSI)), its focus was fast and low light shots or high speed shots (and everything in between) were really good.
Some shots on the iphone are 'nice'. (vs any point and shoot camera)
I wouldn't defend its camera properties.
If anything; the 7 plus, has a much greater range of ability, but still nothing special.
they can fake it until they make it, but nowhere near replacing an actual camera.
Convenient, as phone cameras are, there is no doubt a lot of great photos taken on iPhones (that would have been even better photos had they been taken on a real camera)
Apple chose a very small sensor size, something that only cheap point and shoot digital cameras had been using recently, or consumer class devices half decent from a few years ago.
I have taken some nice photos.
I wouldn't talk up the iphone camera though.
Except the 'white balancing' and the colour accurate screen to see them on.
These things Apple has 'hit out of the park'.
Getting white balance right goes a long way to a 'better' photo.
Sony XY does look, by features, a great phone.
Build quality on the units in the phone stores makes me realise I probably wouldn't have pride in the device after a few months of 'real world usage'.
Certainly would want a case for it, and then it starts getting 'big'.
iPhone 7 is svelte, and being one of the highest selling phones on the planet, will have plenty of case options.
I use a wallet case, with a magnetic attachment where I can remove my phone from it easily and the magnetic back wrap, combined with a hard glass screen protector gives me plenty of protection in a 'tiny device', but I can return it to the 'wallet' outer wrap and have a fully covered phone (no one needs know it is an iDevice!).
I think before we choose a phone we really need to choose an operating system/platform.
Android on Nexus/Pixel is sufficiently different to Android on the majority of other devices.
Business users shouldn't have their business phones on non secure platforms.
Android being free is a fairly big case of 'you get what you pay for'.
Whilst I have used many many many Android phones (and Symbian/ and embedded logics/ and Winphone (prior to 6, and the recent wave since '7'),.. most platform have pros and cons.
Apples pros far outweight the cons, for most users.
Tech site frequenters that make up the comments board here, are the most interested in 'spec wars', and often just want a $200 phone with features that sound the same/similar to a top tier phone.
They will never understand things like a Note 7 having a 340Hz sampler, or an iPad being able to keep persistant pixels and reduce power usage by not updating the screen constantly when it is static (eg reading a webpage).. these things cost lots of money to implement and seldom make the spec sheets!
eg for the ipad to have a low update screen, Apple had to implement hardware to do so.
With regards a lot of the spec sheet stuff- if it is implemented correctly, it is going to work well, mostly irregardless of the specs, but low end parts trying to sound great on a spec sheet are often just marketing bull, and implemented so poorly that the benefit is somewhat nullified.
eg the Sony camera modules do not often feature optical stabilisation when used in their own devices (can allow the lens to not protrude).
Personally I would rather a slightly thicker phone with a recessed lens and greater battery life (not quoted milliamp hours/capacity which can be fudged - eg those cheap rechargable AA batteries that claim really high power, but don't deliver on it, vs quality brands that quote reasonable numbers, and they deliver, for years... )
If we consumers keep buying based on spec sheets, what do you think some manufacturers might do to stay relevant...? Anyone can fudge spec sheet numbers
eg when I bought my first decent quality home theatre receiver, a Denon 1800 model, on clearance, had vastly better specs that the unit that was replacing it, but manufacturers cannot have us thinking that way, so the numbers on the replacement unit looked better (to the uninformed).
not many people are science majors or spend thirty hours researching a purchase; and when we DO research, so many FANPEOPLE can really sway an opinion.
but objective and subjective analysis....
Sony XY will take a sharper shot in many situations. iPhone camera will take a more realistic photo in many situations...
Neither would hold their own against a modern camera of reasonable quality. (In a lot of situations, unless >20 megapixels is needed for a wall sized print, or the iphones four colour light sensor nets a more accurate interpretation of the scene....)
seitokai, 06 Jan 2017Sorry,but my opinion is on real life usage, like on screen ip7 using 720p,meanwhile xz use 1080... moreI never own an Apple before but Sony cam seem good and perfect. The only things is even with quick launch, I find it was lagging sometimes.

seitokai, 05 Jan 2017On my opinion,i give a thumb up for iphone for their platform which is ios and chipset a10 fus... moreThey have the best IPS panels, so better than the ones of Sony, as long as they don't use AMOLED. Battery life is not that great but for that, it is really thin. Camera is obviously better than Sony, if you say anything different then you are clearly a troll or fanboy. And performance is nowhere near iPhone 7. Just look at Geekbench single core score (the most important thing)
seitokai, 05 Jan 2017On my opinion,i give a thumb up for iphone for their platform which is ios and chipset a10 fus... moreApple start with Design concept as so they are selling designed products. In terms of make, look , feel and weight, think they are leading the market.
On my opinion,i give a thumb up for iphone for their platform which is ios and chipset a10 fusion really good, but in other aspect they only average ,like screen, battery, camera and other else,i prefer sony is better in alot aspect, even the performance of xz is nearest to ip7
Hanumath, 05 Jan 2017Seriously Thank you very much guyÂ’s, after read all those comments I planned to buy iphone 7.How is your experience? Did you move from Android to iOS?
