Anonymous, 16 Sep 2016are you serious, so what you saying is ios uses 50% the ram of android for everything, that is... moreYes , I am serious .
And it can varies with device build quality and data or OS usage and system UI and these're the main reasons for most phones (espicially android much more than iOS and windows phone ) as you can use some apps on both LG G5 and s7 edge and the conclusion is winning of s7 edge that has less data usage and less consuming UI so, it has more free ram and so, the apps can use less RAM consuming and so, has more apps to use and so, better performance.
But that can't prevent to say that some phones run stock android and new softwares (as nexus devices or other ) have less data usage , simple UI and free ram to have excellent performance or average performance as close as to iphones and no need to increase ram.
and some iphones like iphone 4 , 4s use about 512MB of ram and run iOS.
and each device has its usage , processor , ram and software so, there isn't any reason to compare smartphone to pc or gaming console or other .
everything has its pros and cons as android uses more data but runs well and pretty good unlike ios or windows phone so, there isn't any reason to compare OSs or other.
Bob, 16 Sep 2016It's because of a little thing called reliabilityyeah. for half the price
Feral, 16 Sep 2016I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with phones like the oneplus 3 offering n... moreBecause People know what they´re getting. The best smartphone Available.
The 2GB ram of iphone 7 or the 3GB ram iphone 7 plus they work better than the 6 gb or whatever you get on android... Do you know why??? Because the IOS is made along side with the hardware so that they work as one... You should read more you know???? Do you ever had an iphone?? If not your comment worth 0... Yeah android is good also but, android and IOS they are two different os.
Nobody , 16 Sep 2016IPhone's ram is more optimized than any Android device......look at the ram management of one ... moreram is ram, its the same ram all phones get, the ram management was bad in that handset due to there skin and the fact that when it was launched it only let users us 4gb instead of the full 6gb, that's been fixed now
Feral, 16 Sep 2016I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with phones like the oneplus 3 offering n... moreI own a oneplus 3 and believe me, nothing can be better than that. I have multiple games open on that simultaneously and I face no issues at all. No games lag at all. Oneplus 3 is BEST with awesome price.
AnonD-585743, 16 Sep 2016Better OS, better cameras, faster (3gb RAM = 6gb Android RAM), much better battery (in real us... moreAh yes, and good for txting and calling, so fast. Wonder what else does it do?
The only reason people will but Apple phones is because they hate Android.
The hardware used on Android phone (eg Samsung, Oneplus, Blu..etc) is awesome and the phone are great, but Apple is a bit better when it comes to doing things flawlessly.
As an example, If someone is syncing Yahoo Email on Android, it is next to impossible to get the Yahoo calendar sync'd unless you download an external App. Now you and I might be able to do this, but someone who does not understand things well will get frustrated. Apple just make is easy for the user experience and hence make a lot of money selling their phone.
IPhone's ram is more optimized than any Android device......look at the ram management of one plus 3 ...this is shitt
i really agree wit feral....phone lik gioone 6 plus....4gb ram,128gb rom,nd still expandable...6.0 inch,6000 powerful battery nd very powerful processor nd still has a ppi of 401
i was expecting something new like self solar charge but never heard on any cell phone......... i wish it comes on next iphone
Feral, 16 Sep 2016I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with phones like the oneplus 3 offering n... moreSpecs aren't near same. OnePlus 3 is about the specs of iPhone 6s. iPhone 7 is a whole new level. And it has good RAM management so in this section, there will be no difference
AnonD-576060, 16 Sep 2016Yes , you're right .
but I am sure that everybody knows that the android OS uses more ram (up... moreare you serious, so what you saying is ios uses 50% the ram of android for everything, that is a complete lie, lets do some math here, s7 vs iphone 7, iPhones with 512mb of ram don't get the latest software so you can assume you need at least 1gb, making ios at least above 512 of ram when its fully loaded, add 200mb for background apps and processes leaving about 1.3gb free for the iphone 7's 2gb of ram and 2.3 for iphone 7s. now we take android, even if the os uses twice the ram that's 1gb plus 200mb for background apps the backgrounds apps usage will be almost the same if your running the same apps in the background, that's 2.8gb free for the s7, the apps themselves will use a similar amount of ram if its the same app with the same functions, there may be a small difference but not very much, the difference is due to run time coding. just look at the download size of the app, they will be very similar to each other. another thing is android scales itself to the ram size available, it can downsize its ram foot print to fit 512mb of ram. I don't see ios running on phones with 512 mb's of ram.
this happens on pc's as well, windows uses more than Linux based computers, but what your saving in ram is the amount that you are freeing from the os so if windows uses 2.5gb of ram for just the os and a Linux bases system uses 1.25gb and they both have 8gb in total your gaining 1.25gb in total not halfing the ram foot print like you think you are with ios. usage of ram depends a lot of the developer of the apps your using, for example, facebook will use almost the same amount of ram on ios than it will on android, the only difference between the apps is the run time code do you really think facebook would waste resources by having to completely different apps and 2 teams to develop them, no they make one then make slight changes so it runs on another os, this is called porting and due to both phones using arm based cpu and gpu this means there is not that much that need done to port an app, the same happens to games on xbox one and ps4, when you port a game the ram footprint will be almost the exact same as long as the developer dose a half decent job with the port
Feral, 16 Sep 2016I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with phones like the oneplus 3 offering n... moreBetter OS, better cameras, faster (3gb RAM = 6gb Android RAM), much better battery (in real use), 3D touch.

I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with phones like the oneplus 3 offering near same specs, and much more ram and basic storage, for nearly half the price...
A lot of people here making up stories to support their favourite OS. "Android phones always crash", "specs on a 2012 Android are better than this iPhone", "Androids are not good", etc... are all nonsense comments.
First things first. Both OS's are completely different, so you can't compare the specs and say that 1 phone is faster than another due to the specs. iOS is a simpler, unified OS and requires less processing power than Android, so it doesn't need more RAM and a bigger chipset. Secondly, all phones (whether Android or iPhones) can crash or freeze, as at the end of the day they are simply just computers. But that doesn't mean they should crash all the time. My Note 5 has crashed on me once in the 6 months I have owned it. My Macbook Pro has crashed a few times in the year I have owned it. My old iPhones used to crash on me now and then. All phones and computers crash, so please stop your nonsense about this being limited to Android.
Really, both iPhones and Androids are equally brilliant, it is what the user prefers as their experience. Personally, I am an Android fan, but that doesn't mean iPhones are crap.
