Nick, 21 hours agoOk but oneplus 5 and sony xz premium are faster than iphone 7/8 even galaxy note 8 is faster t... moreHave you even seen the benchmark scores for the new IPhone 8? Most Android phones in 2017 that run the 835 SoC usually score around 6000 to 7000 in the multi-core benchmark tests. Apple's IPhone 8 scored above 10000 in the same test.
Just face it, Apple usually has the best chipsets. The only thing Android beats Apple in is the feature department.
People criticize Apple current design a lot. But little do anyone realize that every next phone is close replica ( if not exactly) of iPhone ( specially BBK siblings ).
If design had been so bad, then why would everyone want to replicate?
I was using the IPhone 8 for a couple of days from a friend of mine (we agreed to trade phones for 3 days) and I have to say Apple has really dug themselves into a boiling cesspool. IPhone 8 is typical of nowadays Apple products: fast, simplistic, and trendy. But design is currently Apple's weakness.
Apple users have yet to see a revolutionary design since 3 years from the IPhone 6. Apple answered the call and presented a breath of fresh air we call the IPhone X. Oh and they gave us this too. Literally an IPhone 6s modernized for 2017 with some of the expected smartphone trends. Ignoring the already high price, I find it kind of hard to buy this phone over the IPhone X. If I include price into the factors, then why should I buy this over an already reliable IPhone 7? Honestly, the IPhone X is what the IPhone 8 should have been. This puts a problem for Apple's next generation of IPhones.
Since Apple has set a new standard of design in the IPhone category, the next generation IPhone has to meet that standard. Apple can't just bullshit their way through by rebranding another IPhone 6s, not especially when their competition keeps throwing out newer designs every year. The IPhone 8 in my eyes looks like the same IPhone 3 I had nearly 8 years ago. Same bezel design, home button placement, and screen to body ratio. The only difference is the build quality, system, and specs. If Apple releases an IPhone 9 with the same design language as this year's IPhone 8, then the same question will arise: "Why should I upgrade?" Apple has to meet the standard of the IPhone X to even compete for next year. And even then, some Apple users may be resentful towards why they dumped a considerably high amount of cash for a new IPhone design, when they could just wait one more year for a refreshing design with (maybe) a cheaper price. It's unreasonable.
Mainstream Android smartphone manufacturing companies have already set themselves a new standard this year with their own variations of "bezel-less" smartphones. It's expected that they will uphold this trend for the next 4 years until the next best thing. Other Android firms will follow suit. Apple has to do the same, especially since they too hopped on the Super Premium Flagship trend with the IPhone X.

As someone who has used all kind of mobile OS since their early days I totally disagree that more RAM doesn't mean a performance boost. so here is the deal the way OS channel the RAM to each APP is the key point let me mention it like this IOS can run 2 programs simultaneously at most so that's why it's smooth but here is the point Windows OS can run hundreds of programs simultaneously but not with 2GB of RAM for sure what about macOS the same goes for Mac OS but on much smaller scale since it is optimized very well but that's not all even latest Mac OS needs huge amounts of RAM so the more services on any OS the more amount of RAM they need

To me, I'm not a big fan of the wireless charging, and battery life on most devices these days runs about an hour to an hour and a half with little to no use while charging. "
You need to understand what an innovation is: a new method, idea, product, etc.
You state that the "2nd major innvation" was the ability to charge in under 1 hour.
Through the way in which this has been worded, it's clear you also think that Wireless Charging is also an 'innvation' which it is not.
Wireless charging has been around for a couple of years now - you knew this as you clearly stated that WC could have been implemented on the iPhone 6s.
Fast charging also - been here for some time now, the closest example of a fast charge definition would be OnePlus's 'Dash Charge' as that is beyond fast.
So I put it to you - that you have little to no idea what you are on about, for me this has rendered your review null and void.
Have a nice day.
8 is totally mistake by apple. The only difference between 8 and 7 is new A11 chipset and wirelless charging for which btw u need to pay extra 60$!!! For me best choice still is 6s. He has excellent camera, 3d touch and the same look as 7 and 8 for less money. Basicly difference between 6s and 7, 8 is home button and thats it. Of course there are more differences between them but its not something worth 100$ or 250$ bigger price! 7 has an AirPods! Woooow u need to pay for it 150$! 8 has an AirPods an wirelles charging! Wooooooow those two bullshits worth 210$! Allmost a half 6s price 😂

Everybody talking about "speed speed speed". What are you using it for and why? The Samsung S8 plus is a really fast phone not having any problems whatsoever. It can do whatever the iPhone could do and more for example, compatibility is way better. iPhone needs special attention when it gets to compatibility for instance it needs to be "compatible with iPhone OS" and if not then sorry for you. iPhone8 has a lot of problems since the release and iPhone7is outselling it for that specific reason. iOS 11 is also glitching and giving problems. So my question? Why are all these people saying "iPhone is better and faster". Other devices are fast enough? Why go overkill?

Why add up RAM just for the sake of it.
iOS has been efficient in terms of ram.

They optimize their OS so that it runs better than other phones with twice as much RAM. Don't believe me? The Iphone 7 is faster than the newest Samsung phones on the market. The 7. And the 8 is faster than that. Still think Iphones need more RAM? I beg to differ
Love this phone! I know that iPhone 8+ has bigger screen, battery and dual camera but I found it too bulky and cumbersome (and I have big monkey hands). The regular iPhone 8 suits me just fine!

It's is smooth UI which matters and not the amount of RAM.

i have been using the iphone for many years but the iphone 7 feel like the 6
im sure the iphone 8 will feel like the 7
Apple is considered to be one of the top of the line phone, computer, and tablet powers in the technology universe. Apple's newest Flagship, iPhone 8, shows us Apple's future potential with just a slight few tweaks as always from the iPhone 7, and upgrading those features in a new phone.
Where to begin. Apple definitely is aiming top tier with this phone as stated above. However, they didn't really change the physical body of the device, except for a few hardware switches and positions. It did not exactly blow me away when I was test running the iPhone 8, right next to my iPhone 7. The summary of the iPhone 8, is really just a prettier and slightly more advanced phone than it's previous version of the 7. However, there are a few catches with the 8, that may make you want to upgrade if these things are of an issue to you. First off, everything is pretty much the same size and diameter on the screen and resolution, excluding that the iPhone 7 was about 10 grams lighter than the 8, and that the 8 also carries True-Tone, to provide better HD and color saturation. Not so much a big deal right? Seems standard. The first big change of the iPhone 8 is the Chipset/CPU and GPU. Apple launched the 8 with it's new A11 Bionic Chipset, holds a Hexa-Core processor, and Apple geniusly put there own 3-Core Apple GPU in the device. This makes the device flawless in speed and navigating web pages, videos, and playing games just like on the iPad Pro. The second biggest change comes with 2 small upgrades to the battery. Even though the 8 has a smaller battery and capacity, both the 7 & 8 seemed to have no difference in talk time and battery life. The first big change is the Qi Wireless charging. However, I can't help but feel stumped as to why Apple to so long to race to the barn with this, when it could've been able to run on the iPhone 6s at the least, and the second major innvation is the battery can charge in an hour or just under that. To me, I'm not a big fan of the wireless charging, and battery life on most devices these days runs about an hour to an hour and a half with little to no use while charging.
Enclosing, is the iPhone 8 really worth ditching one of the older iPhones? I do not think so on my behalf. As I stated, you're looking at an iPhone 7 with a few "look at me" hardware differences, and basically a small display tweak, an upgraded System, and a few tweaks on the battery. If you're going to upgrade your iPhone, make sure you are doing it for your own reason. The biggest benefit on the 8 is the newer processing power and GPU. Other than that iPhone 6, 6s, and 7, and even the smaller iPhone SE, are still better to have or purchase.
