Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020Do you think apple slows down these old devices?even if it’s brand new..thanks a lotLet me put it like this. No.
Joke aside, you need to use one of this older iphones and see for yourself. In my opinion a 2, 3 even 4 years old iphone is better (software wise and using it in day to day tasks), than any entry level Android phone (bellow 300EUR for example).
Just go and use an iphone 7 or iphone 8 and then compare it with a cheap Realme or Xiaomi, even cheap Samsung or Huawei phones. Yeah, maybe the Android phones will have bigger displays, even OLED in the case of Samsung, they will have 4 or even 6 GB of ram, they will have bigger batteries, fast charging, even 90Hz refresh rate (in the case of Realme 6). But, in the end, when you will use one day to day for 6 months for example, you will see immediately some changes. At least I did.
I do not know why is this happening with entry level Android phones. Maybe is the bad OS implementation, maybe are the apps, maybe because are made of cheaper parts than the flagship ones. In the end, the experience will not be the same after some time. And this happened with almost all of my cheap Android phones in the last couple of years.
I think that is the reason that you will rarely see Refurbished Android phones. Instead you will see even now in 2020, refurbished iphone SE 2016, or refurbished iphone 6s. And people are still buying them, because they are still working with no problem, with minimum lag.
To answer you question, I do not know if Apple is intentionally slowing down their phones. But think logic, if they will have done that, why they will bother to release software updates even for older iphones? Because those updates cost lots of money and resources. I mean it doesn't make sense. On one hand they are "slowing down" those models (to make people buy newer models), but they are putting money and resources to update them and make people still use them.
Anonymous, 29 Aug 2020These two sites have only refurbished phones..on e bay there are some newsMany times these are not "new" phones on Ebay...read reviews carefully on Ebay!!! Many are counterfeit and are from China. Personally, I'd rather buy a really good refurb through a company like Decluttr, where you have excellent reviews and better CS if there's a problem.

Have had a small "dumb" phone for years which I love, and didn't want any of these huge phones that are out there. Did some research and decided to get a 5s or the se 2016. I just need for basics so fine for me. If you do alot online, media, etc., I'd say not a good phone for all that???
Just got one a few days ago on Decluttr...like new. It arrived today. They are popular still so you may have to check often. Decluttr has great reviews and you can get a good price for a trade-in. Macofalltrades is another good site. Can get phones in 3 different conditions. Good luck! Just checked both sites and they don't have any at the moment. There are some iphone 6 and 6s on both sites. They are both smaller phones too.

If you got used with bigger displays, than using the iphone SE 2016 will look like a phone for hobbits, lol. Also, if you say you had this model in the past, shouldn't be better to try something else? Maybe iphone 8, you can find one good right now even for 250-300EUR.
Usually I do not like to use again model of phones that I had in the past. I always want to try something different.
I have this iphone SE now, because I always wanted a small iphone like this (ever since the days of iphone 4 and 4s) and never had one. Also I do not like big phones, more than 6", for example. Sadly, nowadays majority of the phones are like this.
If you are ok with all the points I said above, than the phone is a little beast :) and I recommend it to you. But be careful, you need to change the battery in it. If it is around 85% battery health that will mean poor battery life (2h-2.5h of screen on time, maximum). I change it recently, and now at 100% health I get 5h of screen on time (which for this type of phone is really good).

Hey Everyone,
So Today I was just having a Nice n Happy Day and all of a sudden, I just noticed that My Samsung Galaxy S7 (Edge) got a Pink line which happened maybe because of highness of brightness of the Screen no reason other than that!
I was already planning to change Smartphone,
But wasn't expecting this problem to occur on My Phone.
Anyways,
I'm planning on getting an iPhone SE or Maybe 5S, I've used them before too and I Love em, But it's been a very long Time.
Should I get it
What do You Guys say?;

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2020bullshit. My se with 98% battery can last only 3.5 hours screen on time with real world usage.... moreI just changed the battery in my SE, totally different phone. Maybe is the Placebo effect, but it looks that is even smoother than before.
Also, I get 4-5h of screen on time now. Which for me is perfect. I do not use my phone that much. I prefer bigger screens (like PC's/TV's), even for media consumption.
Whoever is using this phone in 2020, you are a special person.
Have a great time using it.
And never sell it, in 20 years time this will be considered a trophy.
Steve, 24 Jul 2020Then you have a defective phone. Had an SE for years and I easily get 5 hrs or so of sot. evidence please
Anonymous, 16 Aug 2020battery lasts 3-4 hours on 80% battery health
6-8 hours if 100% health.bullshit. My se with 98% battery can last only 3.5 hours screen on time with real world usage. facebook instagram and youtube.
You have to calculate screen on time by yourself through the battery graph in setting. IOS instant screen on time menu its count from your usage whole day. Not from after you unplugged.
Where can i buy an iphone se that is completely genuine. And can i get its battery replaced from apple store?
To solve the battery issue, I bought one of those casing with built-in battery and modded it, linking the internal battery to the external, adding their capacity into just one. Removed the driver board from the case and soldered two wires from the internal battery, that came out from a very small hole I made on the back. Now I have an 3400mah iPhone that lasts almost 2 days even with intense using, and indistinguishable from a regular one that uses the same battery case.
eimi palen, 15 Aug 2020Once we charged the battery fully 100%,how many hours it last m to curious to know avout thatbattery lasts 3-4 hours on 80% battery health
