If rumours are true, in September Apple will release an all touch screen phone in the size of original iPhone SE. They have listened to consumers.

iPhone SE 2020- Launch Price $399
A13 Chipset

Apple a simply over priced product!
Anonymous, 10 May 2020Lol ... if u are into apple ecosystem u camt talk about buying redmi device 🤣🤣 ... soo plz fir... moreiPhone SE 2020 which has better specification(increased ram and chipset) than iPhone 8 is lower priced. iPhone 8 launch price was $699 and iPhone SE 2020 is priced with $399. Apple is simply an overpriced product.
And you are saying about ecosystem. Lol. Apple eco system is nothing but a wall build for apple users to not go for other products. Don't be stuck in that "ecosystem". Explore other brands too.
i think apple making this phone to save their ecosystem. because less and less more ppl buying their new phone. the reason is
1. their new phone getting more and more far away from "affordable" category.
2. people can get the same great feature on apple new phone from android phone
such as great camera, great performance, great battery life, and etc, at more decent
price. and free to choose what feature they need the most if on tight budget.
So many people still using old 6,7,8 iphone and use the phone for it basic necessity. it basically switch from primary gadget to secondary gadget that use for work only. when this old phone dies(supported by apple high cost aftersales service), the user may leave apple ecosystem. What happen next is like blackberry and windows phone.

And what for, you can get a redmi note 8 pro for half, it's fast enough to play all games and battery to go for hours, big full HD screen and has a 64 megapixel quad camera instead of a single 12 megapixel, 6gb ram, it even has a sd expansion slot that this SE lacks, not to say an IR Blaster to control your tv, air conditioner, etc. fast charger too. Again all for half the price. You heard me right.
The guy who comes here in good will replies: I only wanted a small and light phone that is comfortable to use. I will barely use it for two hours a day.

And go as... more1) It's more like many users, maybe most of them don't do any research, if they start with apple maybe they keep buying that and if they buy android, typically samsung, they will keep buying that, price and looks will likely be strong deciding factors.
2) all companies get flawed products our or cheat somehow some time, all get sued, some they win some they lose, it's nothing special. This SE passed the bend test easy, companies learn to build things better overtime.
3) the essential phone had a pretty big bottom bezel and didn't have the 19.5 to 9 "tall" form factor so not the same thing, probably they copied the notch or probably not because it seems that apple's notch was in the works long time before with it's many sensors for face ID. in any case it was a terrible idea heavily criticized at the time but now is the "modern" smartphone design, people prefer a punch hole instead of a flawless display.
399 dollars for this shit😂 I'd rather get an ipad for some big screen and batteries , also that a12 bionic chip .
if they make this fone 5.7 inch screen,
3000mah battery, price 399 euro or 449 euro.
i bet they will sold this like hot cake.
Anonymous, 09 May 2020Omg, at the same price you can buy a better phone on the android side. If you won't use it for... moreThe A13 is being made in high volume (which lowers cost in the end) right now and is more power efficient than the A12, since the battery was going to be small using the more efficient chipset only makes sense.

"I can see a lot of people that can easily live with that."
Can you equate that statement to "everyone"???
As you say obviously not "everyone" will want this phone as their other models have bigger screens and larger batteries. You may need to read the following statement a few times, think and then read again - a few times:
What I am saying is that simply NOT everyone needs the big phone with big mAh that weighs and costs more and is uncomfortable to use - hard to understand I imagine.
I think the real genius of apple is keeping it's haters on fire and you people fall for it every time, think of it, we have hundreds of great big and capable phones to choose from and buy but people feel compelled to come here to give all of their attention to this little phone, you can bet apple loves the attention.

This phone was made for this situation pf COVID-19. People these days have no more jobs are wearing masks so FACE ID is kinda dead and this phone is a savior for everyone
Anonymous, 09 May 2020I am talking about gsmarena's test results and methodology.
Your test lack methodology beca... moreThe SE is made for people taht only uses their phone for calls and SMS, more heavy usage is almost useless, no matter how much trie people to "save" battery is too small for fit a full day, unless, you only have the phone on, with all services off and not use it at all.
Even people that loves die-hard Apple knows and admits its just a nice phone with good camera, lovely size, nice CPU, excelent OS but very awful battery and mediocre screen, even for the price you can get anything better from any other brand, not with the iOS experience BUT, bigger, badder and better specs.
Techsign, 09 May 2020Huawei p30 or iphone se? 🤣🤣P30. it might not have a better chipset but it has a much better amoled display, bigger battery, and cameras with more megapixel. The kirin 980 is good enough for games like fortnite
Anonymous, 09 May 2020Firstly you should consider this if you want a small and light, single handed use, high qualit... moreOmg, at the same price you can buy a better phone on the android side. If you won't use it for gaming, or anything heavy for a smartphone user then why buy a phone with a powerful CPU? On the Android side, you get bigger battery, high refresh rate displays and a good enough chipset (not as good as the A13 chipset). This stuff make the experience better, not the chipset. If you are an average user that won't do gaming or heavy tasks, going android is a better choice (assuming that you did your research on finding a better model) since you won't use the feature of iPhone SE 2020 which is the powerful chipset. If you want best in class performance but with battery life that won't last long then go iPhone SE 2020.
Anonymous, 08 May 2020Apple understand it's customers much better than most people give them credit for.
iPhone X... moreApple understands that its fanbase won't do any research, and will keep buying them. And go as far to defend the company that screws them over. Did Apple do any sort of recall program with the iPhone 6 bending? No. What did they do when they were exposed for slowing down older phones with more battery drain to push users to buying newer models? They responded with a stupid reason saying it's meant to make your phone last as long as possible.
If you think the bezelless aesthetic you're referring to on the iPhone X has been done first, it has actually been done on many android devices since 2014 with the Sharp Aquos Crystal. It was most similar in concept to the Essential Phone, which also had the "true" notch cutout first which has been announced in May 2017 before September. I put true in quotes if you don't count secondary displays on the LG V10.
Anonymous, 09 May 2020I am talking about gsmarena's test results and methodology.
Your test lack methodology beca... moreYou can argue that it is based on GSMArena way to test the battery life, and is tested based on methodology. But sadly, the GSMArena battery test is far from the real world usage.
Yes, not everyone have the same usage pattern, but your comment sound more confident to say that everyone can live with that poor battery life, which in reality is not.
Small battery is always disadvantageous, and people who live with that has to live with the cons.
Please stop the Apple apologist way of saying the small battery is not an issue.
You point is really weak, and if Apple really is confident that everyone really can live with 1821mah battery, then there should be no battery capacity increase for any new model after iPhone 8. Apple also no need to have the Plus, and Max model with bigger screen and bigger battery capacity, just need to force everyone get use to the small screen, with small battery capacity.
Techsign, 09 May 2020Huawei p30 or iphone se? 🤣🤣Both have great build quality and price seems to be similar these days, so it comes down to this:
a) you want a medium sized phone with average battery life and questionable security.
b) you want a small sized phone with top notch hardware and software and lesser battery life.
You can also go for the samsung galaxy S10e if you can find one, it's a smaller top notch android device, good alternative to the SE.
