If you use the phone like this: 1 hour of 3G calls, 1 hour of internet, 1 hour of video -- everyday, you will need to recharge the phone every 59 hours. Say every two days.
So you can hold the phone 3 hours a day for a little more than two days before you need to recharge. Holding the phone for long 3 hours a day and having enough charge for a second day on the same use - I can see a lot of people that can easily live with that.

This is the kind of phone (maybe the perfect one) to buy as a gift to your mother on her birthday, so if you're usage is light (social media, snap a photo here and then, phone calls...) or you're actually buying your mother a gift, your going to be very happy with it. If you want a proper 2020 smartphone, either add those 250$ and get an iPhone 11, or try to find a good deal for a XR.

Jancee, 06 May 20201821mah Battery? Are you kidding me?Definitely go for the X, its battery is more than 50% than that of SE, its amoled screen is battery friendly than that of LCD panel in SE.
If battery is all you care for, then X is the choice, even if you buy one that has been used for some 2 years.

Should I buy a used iPhone xs or the new iPhone se ?
There is not much difference in the price, and I really don't care much for the A13 processor because even the A12 still meets the purpose, all I care about is the phone battery
(I don't want iPhone XR because I don't like screens more than 6 ")
I need some one have the Xs to answer me. (about the Xs battery)

the battery is smaller than the other models therefore makes sense that it would not lost as long in the endurance testing

This are the gsmarena battery endurance ratings for different iphones:
iPhone 11 > 94h
iPhone xr > 78h
iPhone xs > 72h
iPhone se 2020 > 59h
As you can see the iPhone se 2020 has a poor battery rating by far, really this device is for light use at least according to this test, if you do gaming or watch videos on a frequent basis iPhone se 2020 is not for you.
If the XS is new and you are not a gamer then go for that, if you are a gamer or otherwise a rather heavy user your minimum is the XR.
