What a pile of overpriced junk, typical of apple. Garbage battery, outdated cameras, tiny screen and still overpriced as always with Apple at $800 CAD.
I truly feel sorry for anyone who gets this and believes that this is a good deal.
This further validated my theory that the iPhone is for technically inept users and old people who know nothing about tech.
I mean most people are probably buying this for the A13 chip which is the only good thing.
I would take an Android flagship one generation old for about half price of this garbage and have a better user experience.
With a 4.7" 720p screen I can't even properly enjoy texting apps let alone games that take advantage of this SOC.
Hi, 29 Apr 2020Apple just can't stop themselves from scaming people
First they built the ios designedly to ... moreI have seen a lot of hate here... let me say what I think about this phone, from the point of view of someone who's been using Android since Android 1.x and never owned an iPhone.
I do care a lot about my hard earned money and I think that most of the times Apple rips people off. Honestly I don't see how it can be acceptable to spend so much money in a smartphone, then Apple Care, Apple Watch, Apple this, Apple that all the official stuff they try (and manage) to sell you. I couldn't care less.
Having that said... for the price you can get one (got a 128GB model off of a Sky deal, ~£25/month paired with a 8GB plan; unlocked phone), this is the chance for Android users out there who were curious about it but never allowed themselves to shell out buckets of money on such a thing. You can get even better price from Virgin, and if you have Virgin Tribe, under £20!
Apart from spending little money, I also wanted:
- a phone that can be single handed; I really hate the size smartphones have become in recent years.
- fluidity on usage, quick responses, no hick-ups; the new iPhone is powered by very powerful CPU.
- a good camera
- a high-quality feel, and this is something you can't complain about Apple products in general.
That's it! There are many users out there, I believe, that just want a smartphone that works, has a decent size for you hand/pocket, takes nice pictures/videos and is reliable. Coming from a Xperia XZ1 Compact, which I think is a great phone with the perfect size, I wanted a phone that would be "the same" but more powerful, and that's almost exactly what you get with the new iPhone SE -- I say "almost" because it is slightly bigger, and since it has that debatable glass back, one's got to be brave to use it without a case, which adds to the overall size of the thing. To be honest I still don't know if I got too much of an upgrade moving from the XZ1 Compact to the iPhone, anyway... I am spending just £10 more each month... worth trying. I would never pay £469 on any phone (paid £180 on the Xperia, 2 years ago, used off of eBay xD).
iDisappointed, 29 Apr 2020Even the iPhone 7 (2016) has more mAh (1960), and the design is basically the same. My advice ... moreyep indeed for me the lack of night mode is the downer. they say it has a cracking camera I agree. but only daytime. i have seen night time shots, like iPhone 4. aweful. but what should we expect its a £419 iPhone. everything seems very good. great budget iPhone. almost perfect. I think if Apple release this say 2017/2018. you could live its short comings. But with the advent of multiple camera systems and bezel less screens for this price point it will be hard sell to non Apple customers.
I can`t understand if there is an option "tap-to-wake" in this model....anyone??

AnonD-454049, 16 Apr 2020What are you smoking lol... A13 is really quick and at this resolution the gaming performance ... moreIt's like putting a RTX-2080Ti in a desktop only to play on a 720p 60Hz monitor- a gtx 1050 could also run it at 720p 60fps. Plus it's underclocked, you can't expect it to remain cool in that body, also the camera hardware is exactly the same. Battery is less than 2000mah, when a budget phone of any price now has at least 4000mah. No optimisation can compensate. The only real plus points are the chip and compact size. Everything else is lacking- headphone jack, ram, resolution, battery, camera (pixel is waaaaay better especially at night), water resistance (older devices- e.g. s7 had IP68), the iphone X which is only slightly larger is available second hand for £380ish so better value for money even if ios fan.
francesco, 29 Apr 2020Need your help guys! Which one to choose: Iphone SE (2020) or IPhone XS?Gsmarena have not posted an endrance rating for this phone yet, iphone XS is 72h despite larger mAh because of bigger screen and less efficient A12 chipset, according to my estimates SE 2020 will have at the very least the same or likely better battery life than the XS.
