Paul, 25 Apr 2020I would buy it right now, if not for the operating system. It is not that iOS is bad, however,... moreIt's true, it's very difficult to get out of the ecosystem once you are in. I started with iPhone 7+ and I am still hooked. That said, it provides such flawless service that I don't want to leave the ecosystem even though I can if I want. The other systems don't provide enough value for me to get out
This is really interesting to observe. With their overpricing policy, Apple has created a status quo that they'll even manage to get away with launching 4-year-old garbage for 400$ (starting price) and yet get praised for it!!!
No USB-C (still determined on sucking every last cent from consumers)
Subpar 750 x 1334 pixels screen @ 4.7 inches
No 3.5 headphone jack
Most likely mediocre battery life
64 GB (for 400$ !!!!)
post a review video on YouTube, very interested in this device for next upgrade
A 2013 looks in the year of 2020...
I would buy it right now, if not for the operating system. It is not that iOS is bad, however, let's not kid ourselves, the main reason this phone is priced that way, is in order to lure people into the ecosystem. And once you are in, it becomes very difficult to get out, since Apple makes sure devices not from Apple don't integrate as well. And for every SE that is very fairly priced there are 3-4 iPhone rebrands that are not, in a same way in which 2016-2019 has witnessed generations of macbooks with grave defects yet outrageous prices.
If you are comfortable to commit to one brand, or are an more budget minded iOS user, this phone seems a no-brainer. If you are not (like me), then just consider the options first before committing. Anyway, the phone brings undeniably good value.
In Malaysia it cost RM1999(460$). The 399$ Iphone SE 2020 is for US only but not for other countries. For me i better grab Galaxy S10e as it cost only RM1200+(300$) and get bigger display size 5.8inch with the size of Iphone SE 2020.

Note 10, the best ... moreEndurance ratings will come out soon and I am expecting it to be around the 70-80h range, we will see.
Now the note 10 while not the largest I wouldn't call it compact exactly, it's pretty larger than this SE and heavier, with a 3500mAh battery it's not hard to guess it will last more AND it's a device that started at a price in the range of the iphone 11 pro or close to $1000.
damn i know apple's latest chipset has a superb battery life but 1821mah is just too small. it thought they could at least add another couple hundred mah in it
Glad that the old iphone design exists👍

lol
One can make an argument that no one really needs cell phones. They're just an accessory.
Customization is great because it gives the user freedom of choice.
TL;DR in my past post
Few android phones may give a better battery life but its downside may also provide a bad camera, a low chipset (mostly Snapdragon 400ish) and it may also be considered a budget phone. Customization in android is limitless though but who needs that nowadays? Most android phones only give 2 year guaranteed android support updates even the flagship ones.
iPhone has a great camera, secured usage, but limits its customization. Its UI though is classy enough and is fluid. Their bionic chipsets are power efficient (except for older models that is why it had issues. This may be the issue with their software updates.) The bright side with iPhones is that it has guaranteed 5-6 years OS Updates and supports. Their phones is somewhat pricy though.
If only iPhone SE 2020 costs higher than its price now, maybe Id also go rant about it. But guess what, its price is suitable for the phone. Its actually perfect.
I've been using android for a very long time but I own an iPod years ago. It was an iPod 4th gen which lasted for 6 and a half years before it died because I was too clumsy and it fell off my hand in the gym. RIP iPod, you were great btw.
Okay so my experience in the android environment is kinda not really good and not really bad. I had a HTC Explorer as my very first phone and it lasted for 3 years max. I actually did some custom roms with that phone which made it great but then went useless because the updates can no longer support the phone. My next phone was Zenfone 5 (the old version) which had a lot of bugs. Goodness graces I had to turn that to the customer service for repair and it happened twice. I had to give up on that phone because it nearly took off my patience. My next phone was Xperia XA and it was one of my (not really) great phones I had because it had a great camera but with the expense of the battery life. That phone cannot last a day and also the phones build was not that great. My experience with that phone was good though. My recent phone (before it was stolen T_T) was the Honor Play which I consider as the best phone I ever had. It was great but the camera, not really. The performance was great but the support towards the phone had many issues. Huawei stated on the release of the phone that they will be giving 2 android updates to the phone but then they stopped in android 9 which is also not a good sign for the phone.
I, myself, would prefer a small phone, a good camera, good battery life, and a great performance. For the past 2 years, there was no phone produced under 6inches and it became bigger from time to time especially the android brands. The battery is also getting bigger but still, same experience. It'll only last a day with normal use.
My experience with an apple product which is the iPod was actually great even though it didnt have the updates after iOS 6. Back when it was still alive, it still can update most apps and can still download most games but now, I doubt that it can still support most apps.
What made iPhone great is not the battery life. The battery life in most of android phones are not great no matter how big they are but I am also not saying that they are bad. They can last for a day with normal use and as well as with the iPhone.
iPhone is great because in terms of photography, they have it. Updates, certified 5-6 years. Battery, it can last within a day depend on the usage.
But lets not deny the fact that most iPhone are costly thats why it has gained so much hate. It is too much overpriced.
And here comes the iPhone SE 2020. I actually never thought that apple would be releasing their own flagship killer.
Never forget guys. Oneplus released a $1000 dollar phone with issues while Apple released a $399 phone with A13 bionic chip in it. Its like a Pocophone F2 except its an iPhone.
