Apple iOS Rumors

We’re officially one week away from Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where Cupertino will announce its latest operating systems. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman posted some additional details ahead of the event, which include Apple’s limited AI announcement, macOS 26’s moniker and a new gaming app.

WWDC 25 will mark one year since Apple formally announced Apple Intelligence (AI) features, which were severely delayed. Apple is expected to dial down on the AI announcements at this year’s developers conference for obvious reasons.

Apple will reportedly open up its Apple Foundation Models on-device AI to third-party developers. It will support up to 3 billion parameters and allow devs to implement AI features inside their apps. Gurman detailed that Apple’s AI models will support text summarization and auto-correct features.

iOS 26 will be one of the key announcements at the event. It’s expected to arrive with a new battery power management mode, a revamped Translate app with Siri and AirPods integration.

The update will also feature a big visionOS-inspired look, which was previously dubbed one of the biggest visual overhauls in iOS history.

We’re also getting AI features in Safari and Photos apps. Apple’s long-awaited LLM Siri and enhanced Shortcuts app are not ready for preview.

Sticking to its California landmarks theme, Apple is expected to name macOS 26 - Tahoe after the famous Lake Tahoe. The update is expected to bring a new visual identity, featuring a visionOS-inspired look.

Apple is also allegedly offering a new centralized gaming app that will replace Apple Game Center. According to Gurman, Apple will ship its new gaming app across iOS, iPadOS, macOS and tvOS. The new app is billed as “a central place to access games” and will also offer leaderboards and the ability to communicate with other players.

I love my iPhone, but the AI stuff was hollow promises they never delivered on despite the whole "Ready for Apple Intelligence" marketing gimmick, and frankly nobody cares whether the next version of the operating system is 19 or 26 or 40 -...
