How could it last up to 30h of talk time without proximity sensor :D
sapit, 14 Jun 2014hi,may i know before this the spec of the processor is 1.6 dual core and the camera is 5mp and... moreYou are reading at the wrong tablet specs: Asus fonepad 7 has 3 versions, this one is the newest but cheapest so the specs is lower that Asus Fonepad 7 released in 2013.
hi,may i know before this the spec of the processor is 1.6 dual core and the camera is 5mp and the price from DIRECTTD is RM539 about few month ago but right now i seen the spec is low,the processor is 1.2 dual core and the camera is only 2mp and the price also get low about RM389..is it the same model or the model that i mention is ME372CL,but the price is higher than before,is about RM709
this model the FE170CG is made for a different type of customers... DON'T expect high-end specs for the low price, if you want you can try the ME175CG instead but it would cost more... this tablet is for the average users who don't care about the specs and resolution but they just want to get the job done in a very affordable price... FE170CG specs is a bit HIGHER compared to Samsung's Galaxy TAB 3 7.0 due to it's CPU (Intel dualcore hyper threading = quadcore) the rest is almost the same but cheaper... you need not to complain if you decided to go CHEAP... you'll never get a FERRARI performance and specs for a KIA price tag...
nightyknight, 12 Jun 2014Hands on 1 unit today. It is crap(performance, viewing angle, space, display quality, vividnes... moreIt's is for a different buyers/users that's why it is cheaper compared to the ME175CG model... if this ain't for you you can go for the ME175CG....
kk, 12 Jun 2014are this fonepad 7 can use otg cable??????yes it is OTG capable
Hands on 1 unit today. It is crap(performance, viewing angle, space, display quality, vividness, camera, fuk there're just too many cons and etc etc) compare to last generation. I wonder why ASUS take such a big move backwards. Seriously I would rather buy something else.

It was an impulse buy for me. I can't say no to a $100 tablet phone on Ebay. It has the same display resolution as with Samsung tab 3 7.0 ( ~170 PPI ). the 2 MP camera is kinda ok. but the Front camera ( VGA ) is useless.
I kinda like there ZenUI it look's like iOS7. I hope their web site is accurate, that this is upgradeable to Kitkat. Build Quality looks great considering the low price.
Anonymous, 29 May 2014Is this tablet can move to sd Card? You can move your tablet to a sd card?HAHAHAHA.
cannot change the network mode (GSM/WCDMA) auto mode only.
so it always jumping around from HSDPA to EDGE.. 3G to 2G... it would be good if it can be change like previous fonepad 7
better don't buy the screen easy to crack, now no spare part to change and Malaysia Asus Service centre is lousy
Just bought the new Fonepad 7 FE170.
So far the feel for this device is average.
1) Overall smoothness is average, sometime it laggy abit.
2) Display also average. When put it in landscape, the viewing angle is horrible, if in portrait, the angle is acceptable.
3) Wifi reception not that good, my Galaxy S2 able to get more wifi bar, compare to this FE170
4) For camera, well its 2MP afterall. crap in low light, acceptable in day light.
5) The battery is average for its size, heavy usage could get 1 1/2 day with full charge (After several charge cycle)
6) Browsing is average, laggy here and there while loading website.
7) Oh yeah, it support OTG too
Conclusion : Well, for its damn low price, you will get average quality in most of its department. You can't ask for more with that kind of pricing. Companion for your job related daily task is ok, companion for your daily life task probably not.
