We have had it for about 5 weeks, with the 16G memory. No complaints. Had one minor glitch initially when trying to read an e-book, the screen would flicker. Then I asked my 10 year old son what other screens/apps he had open. There were like 4 to 5, closed them out of "recent applications", and then the e-reader ran perfectly. Battery life is more like 3-4 hours if using wifi to stream videos and such, we turn off wifi if just playing games to extend battery. No complaints. My kids ages 8 and 10 can use it easily, and quite intuitively. Runs very fast and very responsive to touch. Tons of free games from GooglePlay, and downloading books from local library was pretty easy as well. Good job ASUS-Google.

why you people wanna check of other tablet? Nexus is a brand with no bloat,and it is very affordable and extremely fast. Maybe some other company could offer their tablet with much lesser price, But it's NEXUS.

I buy ps3 controller and connect it to my nexus 7..
Just plug and play with OTG cable.. Ive enjoyed playing dead trigger,shadowgun, fpse all ps1 games with my emulator :-) the problem is draining the battery because the nexus supplying power to the controller :(
But no problem so far on my nexus 7.

this is amazing tablet. and just works wonders. i love it. who needs a ipad anyway. the screen on this is as good. i mean i seen 1080p video on it. and ipad 3. no difference. so why twice the price for the same device.

really good.. and amazing graphics, i want to tell something. i have play cod zombies and vice city. grate graphics ever i have see in tablet. but when i playing modern combat 4. its running lower frame rate. (19/20 FPS) . i think tegra 3 not fully supported with modern combat series. ... specially compare with nexus 4 nexus 4 have better graphic optimization . because in nexus 4 46 FPS. but nexus 7 gave better graphics, and high detail of water and textures . in nexus 4 medium graphics quality and gamer recommended smoothness. whatever i think nexus 7 can open your playground. thank you

There is no doubt that Google Nexus 7 is great. However,Google Nexus 7 also has a few drawbacks,like the storage space is not expandable and only one camera. Why not try Ainol Novo 7 Venus? Ainol Novo 7 Venus is a great alternative in my opinion. It is also powered by Quad Core CPU ACT-ATM7029 based on Cortex A9 that runs up to 1.5GHz,it has dual cameras,features the same 7 inch 1280X800 IPS screen as Google Nexus 7. One drawback of Ainol Novo 7 Venus is that it has 8GB Nand Flash,but expandable to 32GB - this is very important and matters,I like this.It's sold at $149.99 only from JSXL Technology. I share this just because I think the more choices of Tablet PCs,the better for us.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2012Tab 2 or nexus 7 plz advise ASAP fb name neil mannanexus 7 as it has 1.2 ghz dual core cpu with nvidia tegra 3 over tab 2 vich has 1 ghz with 4430 chipsets .only if u cam compromise gsm and back cam,but how often we use bak cam.il advise to go for gooogle nexus 7 cellular.both r running jelly beans.in the end it depends on ur usebility prefrences.but nexus 7 is a great mixture of best hardware and software.

Yes, there is a mar... morethanks anon,points r realy apreciable,although ainol saying the have removed many complains regarding ainol in the english version of flame the latest of flame(aka burning)now God knoes how much its true but clone is always a clone it can never beat orignal but its only + is tight budget.thanks again

Yes, there is a marked difference between a Nexus 7 and an Ainos Flame. The Ainos flame tablet cannot run most online streaming video services, for example, due to lacking the hardware codecs. It also has lower specifications, and a more shoddy build quality. Also, it has very little onboard storage (as suggested by the SD slot). The Nexus 7 is well worth the extra $40.
