I use all kinds of things. Read "Note II" jack is widely available that time even Iphone 3 or 4 if I remember correctly. Don't get me wrong I still do wired once in a while like using Sony Walkman NW-A55 or Schiit Modi Multibit (USB to phone, priced at $270).

I admit Bluetooth DAC during the Note II generation is horrible until I rediscover Fiio BTR3 (under $70) and later use Sony Walkman NW-A55 ($230) as a DAC through LDAC (wireless). I'll never rely on those headphones with built-in BT. I like my wired Sennheiser HD 600.

Also audiophile is an expensive hobby to begin with and so far phones' DAC gotten poor in quality since Apple is only one with better DAC and they removed it. All my stuff listed is entry level stuff so you have to spend around $800+ for better audio gear. I notice my friends started buying PMPs again like the Sony Walkman NW-ZX300 ($700) or even the revived Ipod Touch. Others would replace phone's DAC with an external DACs like the AudioQuest Dragonfly.

Anyway I can say NW-A55 is amazing as a bluetooth DAC or USB DAC. My friend is amaze when he compare it to the LG V20. When I get my RoG phone 2 I will use the NW-A55 as the USB DAC. Only downside with RoG phone 2 it doesn't support LDAC. I would have to use USB DAC or SBC. Fiio BTR3 can support AptX HD

Until every single bluetooth headsets are BT5.0 and has all the aptx tech for around $100, I'll still fight against the injustice for removing the headphone jack. The jack has it all while many bluetooth headsets don't have it yet.

And for IP68 i really dont care. In present world any phone is at least splash resistant which is great enough. Any phone can sustain a bit of rain if you carry it in pockets and have a proper case on it. I carry a book case.
By the way no IP protection cover your guarantee so if even an IP69k device gets water damage or dies you have to buy new one or pay expensive repair.
by the way no IP resistance apart IP69k which have only 5 phones in world including newly released DOOGEE S90. Protects against any other water than plain one.
No chloride, salt water, baking oil etc.
And even in case of plain water its only in calm conditions. This excludes swimming or diving with your phone.

To me most flagships have tons of cool awesome features which are useless for 90-95% of population due to a well known fact nobody knows how to use them properly and nobody would.

I use this since Note II days because I need ways to keep wired phones from breaking. I don't know why you keep thinking it's limited to wireless mainstream brands.
I kept upgrading the BT DAC for better quality and protecting my wired headphones. Only disadvantage is latency. Hopefully they bring aptX LL into mainstream because games really need that.

3.5mm Jack Fetishist, 26 Aug 2019Absolutely correct, everything we are seeing here is being forced upon us, as interfaces are n... moreWell Stallman can be right problem is companies doesnt care.
As i said they put less and less inside the phone just to minimize the cost of construction cost to made a device but they keeping or increasing the price.

First apple ditched jack, then ditched dongle which cost few penny and even earphones are separate.

Look at Note 10 no jack, hapilly user which got wireles earphones inside the box but instead of 45W official samsung charger which Note 10 supports they add half as good.
Soon or later 5V/2A chargers will be included in box even the phone would supports 100W/5A for example.
Or only wireless charging will phones have,
As we got forced to live with non removable batteries and we are forced to live without jack we soon have to live with wireless charging technology.

Anything which reduces cost to make even a little but allows the company to keep or increase the price will be forced to use no matter what customers would like or preffer.

This is the evolution, strongers prevail over the weaker.
This is the revolution when new and usualy better tech replaces the old one and usualy worse.

Such as happened in Will Smiths movie known as I Robot.

                        Moto X4 cost me 382 euros .
When i am seaqrching for a new phone 400 euros is my limit which i refuse to cross no matter what. All because anything more expensive are just flushed money in toilet because midranger does same tricks as a flagship. Can run smoothly any game, have enough disk space and ram for every app, doesnt laggs and looks like a premum device.
If for example Apple XS Max ior Samsung galaxy Note 10 plus runs a game for example Clash of Lords 2 which i play from 2014 in 10 seconds and my Moto runs it in 12 seconds and after the game is running is equaly fast on any of said devices i dont see a point to buy a flgship for 3 times more price.
Same goes for rest of the specs.

It's not, it's a huge NEGATIVE.

This can only end up in a DRM-infused nightmare and CptPower is the prophet. It's a sad truth and consumers need to wise up to prevent this from happening. But I have little hope left for the less tech savvy so I'm just gonna buy this phone and live with it, or start my own company to counter this.

I mean, you want a wifi-enabled coffee maker to refuse making coffee because you don't use Keurig coffee pods, don't you?

This worked for CDs against cassets. This worked for USB sticks against floppy disks. This worked for digital cameras against analog ones. But this definitely isn't working for headphone jacks.

                                Stallman is right.

Rog Phone 2 8GB/128 Tencent Edition Global & China versions are now available in the Philippines.

It doesn't have Band 28 compatibility but it has B1, B3 and B5 so you're fine.

Tell me everything about the Tencent version. Does it still have ROG UI (hopefully it's just as stock-like as ZenUI when it comes to consistent updates)? Is the bloat worse because of Tencent's software involvement? I heard that I can just hide the bloat. Anything because I'm planning to buy this in a week. It costs almost 32000 Philippine pesos.
