Asus Android

Asus is officially announcing the Zenfone 12 Ultra on February 6, which is more than a month earlier in the year compared to its predecessor.

Asus' non-gaming flagship smartphone for 2025 has run Geekbench today, ahead of the launch. Specifically, a prototype identifying as "ASUSAI2501H". This has been confirmed to be the Zenfone 12 Ultra's model number through a previous IMEI database listing.

As you can see from the screenshot above, the Zenfone 12 Ultra managed a single-core score of 3,036 and a multi-core score of 9,656. Both of those scores are generally in line with what you can expect from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which will undoubtedly be powering the Zenfone 12 Ultra.

The prototype which ran the benchmark has 16GB of RAM, but of course more options could be offered (for what it's worth, the base model Zenfone 11 Ultra came with 12GB). The phone runs Android 15 as you'd expect from a flagship device launching in early 2025.

Since the Zenfone 11 Ultra from last year was basically a ROG Phone 8 Pro without any of the gaming bells and whistles, the situation could be similar this time around where the Zenfone 12 Ultra would be a ROG Phone 9 Pro by another name (and without any LEDs on the back).

So, if that is actually the case, then expect the biggest upgrade compared to the Zenfone 11 Ultra, aside from the chipset, to be the 5,800 mAh battery (300 mAh larger). And not much else. Let's wait and see what happens.

Yeah I see the leaked specs now. I was also reviewing the specs for the X200 pro mini. These phones aren't really small at 6.3 inches, so I take exception to the term mini, LOL. But I guess they are small by todays standards. Having said that, t...
