How about the battery? Is there any heating issue? Please anyone tell me
Malaysia set Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL.
It have been a few days since I got this phone. Initial findings. The screen looks good, a bit cold or greenish, but I do not think it is an IPS screen as I have an iPhone and Moto G to compare. Asus Malaysia website have conflicting infos. No mention of IPS on the spec sheet but mentioned IPS on their online store while the two bigger screen brother have the statement IPS screen.
Battery capacity is 2400mah. Charger is odd at 5.2V 1A. After charging to 100% and left on charger for 5 hours, it is still drawing power at 0.14A while other manufacturer have a 0A draw. So do not leave it on the charger for too long after 100%.
Out of the box, you will have 10.6GB of free internal storage.
Back cover seem too tight for my preference as taking it out will flex the main body a little bit so be careful. Screen can flex but not the mainboard.
The 13MP and 5MP cameras are mediocre. I expected more from a 13MP sensors. And this was in daylight. Indoor performance is worst.
Laser sensor is limited for close proximity. I think it can go no more than 50cm. Why 50cm ? Because there is a laser ruler default app that can't measure beyond 50cm.
There is a sensor for the round windows case cover. Magnet place at the back button will turn on this feature.
Speaker is mediocre as it is a mono speaker set up. Don't like the volume buttons at the back as adjusting the volume while it is on a car phone holder will be impossible.
Asus done well in making cheap plastic looks nice. I got the phone as a second/backup phone and it works well when microSD is added. OTG is available. I like how customizable this phone is. I will update if I find something new.
Display is really clear sharp and crisp. Nothing to complain as far as display is concerned. Great viewing angle as well. Also zenUI is really smooth and addictive. It offers great experience. Another reason to buy is asus frequent updates. They keep their phones updated to latest version. Which even some flagship phones don't offer. Really like that about asus. Also its camera performs really well under well lit environment. Am a camera enthusiast trust me you wont be disappointed.
A.J, 20 Dec 2015how about the screen display? (its a TFT LCD) good or bad? is it bright? The screen is very good, the brightness is normal, but I don't have any problem to see my phone with direct sun light. :)
well & good phone, i'm using near a month, sound quality is good not so loud & buzz, processor works well, front camera is fabulous but rear camera sometimes like drizzling & not so clear as a 13MP like. but many options have, not so hot after playing big games, battery is good, so i'm happy with this Zenfone
Is zenfone laser have nice and good quality on rear and front camera? Cause I have zenfone 5 and 6 and the front camera is too zoom and its not good for me.
And i have a problem on the GPS, it doesn't work properly

A.J, 20 Dec 2015how about the screen display? (its a TFT LCD) good or bad? is it bright? The display is better on 5.5 inch version. 5 inch one has a slight yellowish tint on white backgrounds but its not a deal breaker(even moto g turbo which is priced higher than this phone has a yellowish tint) Its all good. Personally I'd prefer this 5 inch one because of its compactness and convenience which comes with more pixel

Latif, 19 Dec 2015does this version has noice cancelletion mic? Pls some one reply. TIANopw
Its design are loosely copied from moto g. Especially the volume rocker design at the back looks like moto g's signature design. And the edges also looks somewhat similar
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2015Moto g 3rd generation is better than both j5 and laser. Which is priced at same amountMoto g 3rd gen is slightly higher 1k. But its all worth it. Better performance with better camera quality than both j5 and zenfone. Let me put it this way if i had to rate camera image quality of these three devices which has been the highlight of the recently launched asus phones. I'd rate moto g 3rd the best among the three. Images were just outstanding. With the j5 falling in the second place and lastly zenfone 2 laser. Zenfone laser didnt have enough contrast and colour reproduction and looked washed up and pale. As performance, here again moto g outperforms both the j5 and laser of course with its 1.4 ghz going up against 1.2ghz on both j5 and laser is not surprising. However the zenfone 2 laser somehow performs better than the j5. With the j5's UI bugs, lags here and there and occasional restart.
