vinny, 21 May 2016my phone was unable to install apps but while restarts it works properly for 5 minutes
and ag... moreit may be happened by some Trojans and viruses ,
remove memory card , then download and install Kaspersky internet security from google play store and update data bases fully, and then restart the phone
then do full scan , if Trojans or viruses found on the apps, just uninstall them

Zer0, 19 May 2016are you connecting in wifi? or a pocket wifi? it depends on how fast your wireless internet is... morein wifi connection some times get erroe messages , llike yours , so go tom wifi setting , click modify on wifi name then -- advanced -- keep proxy to none

1) move all videos songs photos and zip folders to memory card
2) switch off phone , remove memory card
3) go to recovery mode , clear wipe partition and power off
4) switch on phone, check for latest updates via google play store , and update available updates
5) check system firmware update , and if available download and keep on charging atleast 80% and still continue to charge
6) after downloaded , click install wait for atleast 30 minutes depends upon file size

this may be system firmware not downloaded fully by fota , use wifi connection to download ,
or download firmware file from directly asus official website to computer and copy zip file to phone memory
