Want to check whether you can help to differentiate output of "Battery" and the "Power COnsumption Table" in the Power management option?
I got my zenfone just yesterday and so far, so good! don't have any problems with it... i just plain loove it!! yah the battery life is kinda low but that's just normal when you're using it every now and then especially on gaming :) so far i don't have any issues with it the phone is pretty snappy and vey well made, the design for me is elegant, very light and easy to carry :) :) the camera is good so much fun with it :) so far i did not experience any lags even though i installed it a lot of apps and games :) and also i downloaded 360 security app for the viruses, memory boost, battery saver, it is truly a big help :) it lasted my battery upto 8-10 hours..(im not that into gaming though).. that's it! for me, this phone really rocks!!!
2 days is my battery life whith medium usage, very good for this specs, i have 4.4.2
A week ago rooted and flashed it to have a playstore available, is a nice, cheap(£105 on ebay), but solid phone, only the battery getting flat quick but like most 5" smartphones with older intel processor.
it's good looking phone...but the battery backup is too bad...bt its charger is pretty good...another big issue is about speakers...low volume is disgusting me....bt when i put headphones or speakers, it's volume is amazing...on the top of that, it is the best phone under 10000 i ever used...

Instead of updating OTA if I get it updated from Asus Service Center then it will be fully updated? I mean in sevice center they would update using full version software.

Anyway, you may need to go to Settings and change from Google Voice typing or whatever it's called back to Asus keyboard.
Some updates reset that setting.

2. Thanks to Google, format was wiped from KitKat. You need to format to FAT or NTFS in your PC.
3. For internal contacts (not those on SIM cards) tap on the picture and browse for another one. On SIM contacts you can't set photo.
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2014Hi Tomazz,
Is the Kitkat update fine ,are there any major issues bcoz of update , any advice ?Kitkat is OK but:
- you need to install FULL 184.108.40.206, then upgrade to 220.127.116.11. Then run 2.19 Kitkat upgrade, and when done, do a full recovery.
- then upgrade to latest Kitkat release that addresses battery life.
However if you got phone with 1.14 and did OTA to 18.104.22.168, then you have tons of fixes missing, and upgrading to KitKat could cause severe issues.
They can be fixed by loading full 2.19, not FOTA file. But then it is mandatory to do a full recovery to clear out the old junk and cache.
Last but not least - issues can also be caused by crappy apps. But that can happen on any version of Android and on any phone.
When I say full update = 700-800 MB file from Asus website (I have a mirror for it if you can't find it there)
FOTA = the file used for OTA (over the air) updates, that is generally very small and is only incremental update on top of previous updates.
But Asus screwed up OTA updates and doesn't check what was the last one installed, instead sending you the last... missing all the updates in between.
And that's the root cause of so many problems people face.

Json, 17 Dec 2014debp is the 1 trolling. I own the device for 6 months and Im not satisfied with its battery li... moreWell, if you say so.
I charge it once every 2 days with 10-30% battery left.
Even when using it most of the day, it lasts from morning to evening, about 14-15 hours, before getting to power saver mode.
Given you're all about battery life, I'd recommend you get a Lenovo S860. Screen is reasonable, camera is awful, and so is sound quality and signal, but it comes with decent ARM processor and 4000 mAh battery. Costs 2.5x more than Zenfone 5, but I guess that's worth it.
Now I can't say that Zenfone battery is good. It's not. It's below average. But it's not such a crap like many trollers here are trying to portray it as.
Although I do admit that apps like Facebook Messenger, Skype, and many other spying apps, on top of a few KitKat errors on camera and location module can drastically shorten battery life if used.
Rooting the phone and installing permission manager in super user, to disable access to services that apps should not require, would make a night and day difference if such apps are used.
Json, 17 Dec 2014@debp try owning one instead of reading the manuals and you will feel like its a waste of mone... moreNot every Lenovo has 4000 mAh battery. And the rest that I happen to have around my drawers have no better battery life from Zen.
Screen isn't the main culprit here. Atom CPU and external graphics processor are.
