friends anyone who are not able to update the phone to kitkat, i would suggest that the best method to update the phone is downloading the latest firmware from asus website itself and then installing it via sideload . this way you will also not have the bugs which some kikat users faced and also it is the best method

I have a Mac. With 64 GB RAM. Even when loading only a handful of apps, my available RAM would be ... well, close to 0.
The reason is that the phone will be using some (or most of) RAM to provide a quick start of applications. Some sort of cache.
What you could do on Mac to release that would be SUDO PURGE.
While that would release the inactive RAM, it would of course take longer to start apps, etc. after that.
If you don't do it, system will automatically release that RAM when another app starts.
Therefore you do not need to look at the available RAM. That's only the RAM that hasn't been used. Where your memory is really at, is inactive RAM.
bbe066, 06 Nov 2014Guys i am facing UI issue...for e.g. app.s gets crash automatically...and it shows System UI h... moreThat was an issue on early JellyBean firmware. It could be OTA update with missing previous updates.
What version are you on now?
In either case I'd recommend flashing phone with newer firmware than current one, a full firmware file (not OTA). If you are on 1.14, then load 188.8.131.52 full firmware (around 700 MB), if you're on 1.18 already, and don't mind moving to KK, then try 2.19.
Do note that in the latter case you will need to do a cache partition wipe and full restore from recovery partition, so it cleans up anything that could be causing troubles.
