Dev817, 26 Aug 2014We can't add pics for sim contacts. Bu can be done for all other contacts(google, device,fb etc..)Apologies, I misunderstood the question.
You cannot add picture to SIM contacts as instead of pic it always shows icon of which SIM contact is on.
Adding photos is only supported if you copy contacts to phone.
A-VED143, 26 Aug 2014i got my phone now from flipkart but it has 1.15 firmware update how to get it updatd to 1.17 ... moreGo to Asus.com, in products select Smartphones, then ZenFone 5.
Click on Support and then on Downloads.
In OS selection choose Android or Other.
Find version 1.17.40 for your version of phone, likely WW.
Plug phone in your computer with USB cable.
Find device in My Computer/Computer.
Double click it and you will see 1 or 2 drives, Internal Memory, and SD Card, if it is inserted.
Open Internal Memory by double clicking on it and place that file you unzipped into the root folder.
Wait for copy to complete.
Unplug USB cable and you will notice triangle with ! Mark in notifications.
Pull down top left side of the screen and tap on System Update is available.
It asks you if you want to install, which you choose, if you have at least half a battery charge, as you don't want it to go flat midway, although process takes less than 10 min.
Phone will restart, you'll see robot with green cube spinning.
When complete, phone will reboot again, and let you know update was successful.
At that time it will also delete that firmware file from internal memory.
Alternatively, you can wait for OTA update.

luke , 26 Aug 2014But when i bought it from flipkart it showed upgradable to kikat..??? Pls suggestThis means that it supports KitKat, and that it is being planned and developed.
When it is available, you will be happy to download 1.4 GB firmware file over your cellular connection, and click Install Now.
But at this moment, the software is not yet released to public.
Release date will depend on the fixing of the applications for compatibility with KitKat, which is in process.
Some expect it to be released next month.
KitKat will bring you more speed, better battery life, new dialler, and a whole set of new restrictions on the use of SD card.
Rajakumar, 26 Aug 2014Hi.. Every Body...
I purchased ASUS Zenfone 5 last week from FLIPKART based on their advertis... moreAre you sure you got the real one?
I mean, mobile phone cameras are not in DSLR quality standard, but in good light they do challenge the compact cameras. And the cam in Zenfone, for 8 megapixel camera is actually on the higher end of sharpness and details.
It is certainly comparable or better than most of other 8 MP phones that you can find, so saying that it's not even comparable to VGA (0.3 MP) is an outright lie, and would only be possible if you have bought a fake phone or one with broken camera module.
I have posted the photos, taken with this phone before, and I'm a little lazy to take new ones and post them for you, but you can see them at www.mega-networks.asia/ZenCam/ taken straight from camera (check EXIF for confirmation).
Now please assist from your side and provide links to photos you took with a VGA camera, and let the audience decide if Zen's photos are really worse than that.
Tomazz, 25 Aug 2014There is no KitKat update available for this model yet.But when i bought it from flipkart it showed upgradable to kikat..??? Pls suggest
AAshwi, 26 Aug 2014Hi all,
i m thinking to purchase Asus Zenfone 5 with 16GB RAM,can you please advise me if i... moreGrand Neo is more plasticky than Zen, and is in specifications weaker on just about entire front.
Be careful if your operator uses 850 or 1900 MHz for 3G, as Neo doesn't support them. Camera on Neo is also mediocre, so is the screen, with about half the resolution of Zen's screen at the same size. It also has 1 GB of RAM and comparable CPU speed, although Atom will likely outperform that Qualcomm chip in most tests.
Only advantage could be battery life on Neo, and possibility that there are more Samsung service centres in India than there are Asus ones.
Eventually it is your decision, though. Whatever you like more.
