AnonD-327508, 10 Dec 2014then why dont you root it? rooting can help you in many ways specially when it comes to batteryI am not daring to root the phone because I have never done that before. I am a bit scared that i might brick the phone. Secondly, I dont want to loose the warranty.
My battery has draining even faster after updating all the asus aps in the google play store... I wonder wtf is Asus doing...
@junjun, Just as amit said, aslong as its asleep, u loose battery very slow. The moment u switch on the screen and start using any ap, battery start to drain really fast. Even the keyboard consumes like 20-25% battery if u type for 10 mins. I normally use hike msngr with no other ap running in the background and my battery drops by 20% in 40 mins... I hope this gives you an idea regarding the battery life.

So i can take it as the battery life is equal to the other sm... moreno, like i said it depends upon you, what this phone lacks is optimization,but however what this phone lacks in battery ,it covers up in other aspects like camera and performance so i think its not that bad at all, although this phone is not that good for a heavy gamer

when you are not using it mean on standby ,the battery drains at really low rate but when you use it for any application then it drains really fast.
so its upto you how you use this phone. battery life will depend upon it

But I dont get 5-6 hrs onscreen time.. I get around 3.5hrs onscreen.
I dont run 3-4 aps in background.
I dont use it a lot. I use it very less because of the low battery backup.
You said you use it very less but how can you get onscreen time of 8- 9 hrs if u r using it less? May be u use very less aps. I dont use many either..
I guess zenfone battery is indeed weak and nothing can be done about it.
I haven't rooted my phone. Will do that sometime in future and check.

Plaese please please... DON'T BUT ASUS ZENFONE 5.They are providing Gorilla screen. After 1 week of purchase, accidentally i dropped it (hardly from 15cm height), the gorrila glass broke which was not supposed to break..I contacted to FlipKart and asked for service center details, they said they hv sent details in my mail id, but I didnt receive any mail. After 1 day, My phone was not functioning at all(Even power button was not working). then i restarted it (hard boot), then it worked. Again I contacted to flipkart, they provided me 2 contact numbers. One was wrong number, and on dialing second number, no one is receiving. I think they dont have service center, or they dont want to repair it.
