The new update has improved my phones battery but I'm now facing wifi issue. My phones keeps on forgetting saved wifi's.
For me update 22.214.171.124 battery fix didn't helped even battery drains faster than before. Most of the battery consumed by GPSD(google play service, i don't know what is "D"). So i disabled google play service and battery drain stopped but com.google.andoid.gsf.login prompting me on notification to enable.
Do i need to do full kitkat install or i should downgrade to JB and wait for next kitkat update from asus. I need your advice. which will be better

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2014Unfortunately for me V126.96.36.199 is not proving to be anything better than the 1.18.x version... moreMaybe you haven't received OTA update which about 10-15 MB in size to fix battery issue? They just released it recently.
Sorry, guess I've to be more specific: V188.8.131.52_20141003_8008

C:\Windows would be folder Windows.
But root of the drive means the first thing that opens when you open that drive, not any of the folders or subfolders.
No, you don't need to "root" the phone. "rooting" of the phone means elevating your user credentials to a super user, kind of like main administrator, rather than being just a user.
This allows you to change the settings that the company has locked up and normal users can't change. It also allows software (if chosen so) to run in full administrator mode, with full access to the system, with all the good and bad parts that brings.
AnonD-279813, 09 Oct 2014No, I have no problems with it.

AnonD-210234, 09 Oct 2014what i mean is that do you have any problems with your current build now? the KITKAT OS?
al... moreNo, I have no problems with it.
To manually install it, if you downloaded complete close to 800 MB file, then do this:
unzip file to desktop
plug phone into your computer
in Computer locate the phone and double click to open it
inside double click on Internal storage
place the unzipped file into the root of this drive (not into any folder)
when copying is complete, unplug the cable, wait for the notification to show up that system update is available
and choose to install it
Needless to say, make sure you have at least 50% battery charge before you start this.
AnonD-279813, 09 Oct 2014I can't say that I've had any problems before either, but many other people have.

AnonD-303138, 09 Oct 2014Tomazz, the full download of 22.214.171.124 at Asus website is for TOOF version ww. Any problem if... moreI should be more precise.
It supports both TOOF and TOOJ, but on TOOJ if you don't do a full restore, it might not properly operate.
Personally I would ask you to use the ones from my site, if you really want KitKat rather than this file.
Jana, 09 Oct 2014First I updated to V126.96.36.199(WW) and then I updated kitkat os. But my battery drains very qu... more188.8.131.52 is the battery fix.
But… as said this will only work in some situations.
I do recommend a full restore after KitKat is installed, and then if needbe installed the battery fix.
Main problems are from the way existing settings and apps ruin the upgrade when they are kept, which can at this moment only be fixed by a full restore from recovery partition.
AnonD-313233, 09 Oct 2014I can't find it? Can you tell me how the trick. Safe or not for my phone?Credits to Ckander:
You have to fastboot recovery.img first before downgrading to 184.108.40.206 Otherwise you will get "getprop("ro.build.asus.sku") == 'WW'" error.
220.127.116.11 upgrades recovery to v2.19. so you have to downgrade the recovery to 18.104.22.168. Here's the process to follow :
1) Download the recovery from
2) type this at fastboot :
"fastboot flash recovery 22.214.171.124_ww_recovery.img"
3)boot to recovery and sideload 126.96.36.199

I don't see an improvement on battery as mine was very humble even in the past, but at the same time also not any other problems.
Note that I no longer use flip cover, so I don't know about that.
