AnonD-291039, 08 Oct 2014update direct from my phone... download and install the update... phone restart and it will sa... moreWhich one failed? The 188.8.131.52 or 184.108.40.206?
You can download the full firmwares for the version that is newer than what you have installed, from here:
And then the battery fix:
Now how to update it - download the files and unzip them to say desktop.
Connect your phone with the USB cable to your computer, and copy the unzipped file for update to the root of internal memory.
When done, unplug the cable.
Maybe also check how much storage space you have on the internal drive of the phone, maybe you ran out of space if you have lots of media or apps installed?
Those above are full firmwares, not OTA. You need to install 220.127.116.11 before loading Kitkat though, unless you already have it installed.
Another note - if you plug your phone into computer and nothing happens - make sure phone is set to MTP - tap settings, then storage, and at the top right tap on USB logo. Then make sure it's set to MTP and not Camera.
If you are using Mac, use Android File Transfer to copy the file into the phone.
Make sure you put the unzipped one (with _user_ in the name) and not the file you download. Also do not unzip it further than from the original downloaded file.
Let us know how it goes :)
Chimax, 08 Oct 2014It drained only 2% in 3 hours... Seriously? Can you please cite more improvements? Is missing saved wifi and double screen locked have been fixed?
AnonD-279813, 07 Oct 2014There is 30% loss on capacity when battery is powering another battery.
So deduct 30%. Then... moreThanks, but that's just an option if asus can't afford to give us better battery. I just gave them a feedback and they said "Thanks for the feedback. Actually, this is a known issue and we are actively working on the fix, I believe you’ll receive another update soon. Please stay tuned." And with the wiped out kitkat firmwares on their site. I think they are really working on it already.
Another thing is after the update, i notice that the RAM is now more occupied than before. My free RAM before was more than 1GB and now, it's 600-800MB. I can't imagine that 2GB RAM can be occupied by that much. So what about with Z4 having 1GB only. What do you think?
AnonD-279813, 08 Oct 2014That's the battery fix we were just discussingSeems battery life issue is fixed a bit... Before the update battery drained about 30% in 7 hours in standby... Now it drained only about 2%
AnonD-279813, 07 Oct 2014If your JB is working properly, don't. If JB isn't fast enough for you, then you can upgrade.Asus release update 18.104.22.168. Is this new update for android kitkat? Stable or not? Or same like before?

bong , 08 Oct 2014Y Skype crush every time I call this application?Try the update of app, maybe some other app is interfering with it, or uninstall and reinstall it.
Eventually - what version of app are you using and what firmware are you on?
Maybe we can make a plan how to fix it from that.
AnonD-316833, 08 Oct 2014hii i have got an update for around 449 mb is it the kitkat update?
Yes, that is OTA update of KitKat.
If you have done every update from 1.14.x then you can install it. If you did not, I would recommend you to install the full 800 MB update manually, then the battery fix.
That is, if you want KitKat. If you don't, stay with 22.214.171.124 you're on :)
