Hi Tomazz, 1.18.10 is available via OTA yesterday but upon checking for update today it says phone is updated but only 1.18.9.. Why 1.18.10 is missing now via OTA?

Just updated to Kitkat. First had to download the update released before the kitkat ( you just can't jump to kitkat). plagued with the same access point problem. Settings has stopped. Asus please release an update ASAP.

Do not update Kitkat. After update kitkat, my zenfone 5 is not connecting my smart TV by miracast.

Installed Kitkat on my Zenfone 5, but now APN cannot be set. Gives me error: " Unfortunately Settings has stopped". Any idea how to resolve this or workaround available?

AnonD-279813, 03 Oct 2014You can't downgrade without rooting...That means can't downgrade from kitkat to 1.18.40.9? How to root on kitkat? The only option to downgrade is by rooting.

i had all updades installed on my zf 5 till 1.18.40.9, but now when i try to get ota update for 1.18.40.10 it says it is up to date.... whats the problem ... plese help me guys thanks in advance..

If you already have 1.18.40.9 loaded that has previous updates missing, load 1.18.40.10, then load full KitKat from my server.

Hi Tomazz,
Updated to Kitkar by FOTA today. First to 1.18.4.10, and afterwards to Kitkat. Did a factory reset. All working fine, except data: Kitkat won´t let me set APN. When ticking APN, it errors: " unfortunately settings has stopped". Any idea how I can set the APN in some other way?

Hello guys!
I got heavy problem with zenfone 5 - while calling after something like 2 minutes phone resets by itself, after that I'm getting message something like com.android.phone has stopped. Any solution for this? I got chinesee compilation and I'm not sure if that will get update to kitkat... I'm worried because I bought that phone just 2 days ago and got so big problem :D.

That's about 700 MB file.
Once you're done with that, tap System Update and it should OTA update to 1.18.40.10.
Then tap System Update again and get OTA KitKat.
In this case you do not need to use full Kit Kat. That's only needed if KitKat failed to update, or if you System Updated from stock firmware directly to 1.18.40.9, which would have missed all the updates in between.
Instead of that I recommend you to install full 1.18.40.9. After that OTA should work without issues.
