But only lags in battery life, it discharges quickly
(stand by is ok),

my zenfone 5 suddently not recognize sdcard after restart the phone...
AnonD-312245, 25 Sep 2014ya full of shit dude.....i use kitkat in another brand....kitkat is a battery killer....ya nam... moreAsus Zenfone 5 LTE indeed is released with KitKat.
On the 4 phones that I have updated from JellyBean to KitKat, I have noticed 0 battery life improvements, but these were all Snapdragon phones. On 1 of the phones the battery life halved, but that was due to apps, and factory reset and reloading new versions of apps resolved that.
The reason why A500CG/A501CG should have some battery improvement is because JellyBean was only designed for ARM processors, not for Atom, and as such lets processor run at full blast all the time, with only Asus' power management controlling the speed, but that is only controlling the clock - it is unable to turn any services on or off, meaning it burns a lot more power in idle than it should, shortening the battery life.
As for why KitKat isn't released yet, my source tells me a different story. Can you let us know who in Asus team told you that?
Last bit - you're discouraging people from buying these "crap devices". May I ask for your suggestion on what they should buy on the same budget then?
Please don't say the new Moto G. The battery of it lasts only a few minutes longer than Zenfone 5.
can anyone plz tell me this phone supports ta
mil font r not....plz tell me frndz
AnonD-279813, 25 Sep 2014KitKat update will wipe your whole Jelly Bean and replace it with fully updated KitKat OS.
... moreya full of shit dude.....i use kitkat in another brand....kitkat is a battery killer....ya name it...stock or custom..... dont give them shit....
yach kitkat have better performance...but not for better battery life....kit kat give ya worse battery life than jelly bean....ya can googling it....in every android forum....so once again...ya really full of shit!!
so for someone out there that have intentions to buy this crap devices.....known that zenfone have good performance but not the battery life....this phone is fast for sure..big ram.....but the battery is drain so fast....so once again.....figure it out...if this crap devices use jelly bean and have worse ever battery life...what words ya people will use to describe this sucks ever devices for the battery life if it use kitkat?!!...LoL
its the reason...why ASUS not yet release kitkat for zenfone....!!!!!....they find deadlock!!
in my experience ICS have the best battery life....!!
AnonD-279813, 25 Sep 2014KitKat update will wipe your whole Jelly Bean and replace it with fully updated KitKat OS. ... moreIs this phone good for gaming ?
AnonD-308768, 25 Sep 2014Dear tomaaz...I have a question that the updates I missed by doing fota update only. . ..will ... moreKitKat update will wipe your whole Jelly Bean and replace it with fully updated KitKat OS.
Battery performance should increase through better power handling of the CPU, the load of which is further reduced through better memory management compared to Jelly Bean.
But exactly how much difference there would be is not possible to tell without getting the phone updated.
As for camera - there were several updates for camera already - those are not only delivered in system updates, but also in Camera app update.
can someone please help me,my phone cannot connect to google..something like cannot establish realible connection to server keep appearing..what should i do?i dont want to root my phone(all other page keep suggesting that)
Dear tomaaz...I have a question that the updates I missed by doing fota update only. . ..will I get all the updates in kitkat update ...
And at what time kitkat will be here if I can do the full update which can increase my battery power and the camera could be more clear. ...
AnonD-279813, 25 Sep 2014I would not dare to say all apps would work, as that would require testing them all. But if... moreDo you have any idea of release of snapdragon Qualcomm processor version in India ?
AnonD-279813, 24 Sep 2014Well, CHN-Android is an issue, as that's the Chinese phone and likely has no PlayStore, or any... moreActually,it has playstore, i just install the update from 1.14 until 1.18..thats all.. =)
AnonD-304245, 25 Sep 2014Hello every one,
how to update OTG support for asus zenfone 5. can we update only OTG suppo... moreDoing only selective updates could break your phone and cause many problems, as such I discourage you from doing that.
All in all 1.18 is OK. As long as you install it complete, not just FOTA, unless you have previous updates all loaded.
ZEN, 25 Sep 2014Hi Tomazz,
Please make confirm if Intel processor does support all older android apps as wel... moreI would not dare to say all apps would work, as that would require testing them all.
But if they are written properly, and updated for JB (and later for KK), they should work just fine.
For any apps installed from outside the Google Play, nobody will give you any warranties.
