Setting - Select more - mobile network - Access point names - add APN settings(Sim 1 or Sim 2) - click on + on right top - tap on name - Edit the name provided by service provider - Edit the APN as per given by service provider - Save the edited APN setting - Select modified APN setting - Go to Quick setting - Switch Mobile Data ON - now you can see Mobile data connection Notification on top of home screen :-)

Just bought mine 3 days ago. Battery is a disappointment. Drains even while in idle. It was still in 70% when i slept, then when i opened it the next morning, it's down to 30%. How can this be fixed? My unit is already updated.

Zenfone 5 offers a good performance for everyday using fast browsing...nice UI ..the very bigg problem is the battery draining so fast...on 3g it goes off afte 6 hours using and 8.5 hours on wifi with a half britness settings....i think that intel must develope a new kernel to optimize this problem its a good 5 inch smartphone..

Tanveer, 07 Sep 2014I have downloaded but how to install update? Plz help meIf that's close to 700 MB file (NOT 15-30 MB) then you unzip it.
Connect your phone with USB cable to your computer.
If you use a Mac, get Android File Transfer app, on Windows it should show up under Computer/My Computer.
Double click on the phone device (in window below internal hard disks) and you'll see 1 or 2 drives inside, first is Internal Storage, the second (if you have SD card inserted, is the SD Card).
Copy that unzipped file to the root (main) folder of the Internal Storage.
When copying is completed, eject the device and unplug USB cable.
You should have a notification in the notification bar at the top, a triangle with ! mark inside.
Pull down notification bar from top left and you should see System Update is available.
Tap on it, and when asked whether you want to install it, choose Install/Yes.
Make sure to have at least 50% full battery before you start.
The phone will reboot, you'll see Android robot with box rotating in front of it, then there would be another reboot, and the phone's upgraded.
The small updates from FOTA require that you install all the previous updates in sequence first, while the large files 650-700 MB are complete firmware and it is not required to install previous versions first.

The one coming out this month is pretty much a copy of Zenfone, with identical battery capacity and screen size but brighter screen, which you would imagine burns more power.
So I am pretty confident that the battery complaints will dominate the forums about the new Moto.
Obviously the old one could easily power 1/4 of Zen's resolution (and with that 4x weaker GPU), weaker CPU, and smaller screen.
Eventually it is your choice what you get, though, and since you prefer a Moto, get a Moto :)

It only supports VoIP video calling, like in Skype, Line, Viber,…

Download the latest 1.18 firmware from Asus or my site, unzip it and place file into the root folder of internal phone space.
Then get the update installed.
This will return the phone to "official" state and allow you to receive future OTA updates.
However note that the warranty state might still go from 1 to 0, which happens when you do rooting. I am not sure official firmware will reset that back.
You can see it at the top of the screen when booting phone into restore mode.

Contact your telecom for the settings, or ask in here with the name of the operator you are using, so perhaps someone else is using the same and can help you with it.
Alternatively, check your previous phone for internet settings.

If it is over the return period, contact Asus service centre for guidance, which will depend on whether phone has local warranty or not.

I just want to know, is it dangerous to use phone during charging...It is not dangerous to use it, generally, however some precautions would be beneficial:
- the phone's CPU warms up when the phone is being used
- the battery warms up when being charged
- the screen warms up when being used
So if you put these 3 together, the phone will be warmer. This means that it is not a good idea to put it under the pillow or sleep on it, as it could overheat.
Therefore if you are using it, make sure you don't fall asleep with it in hand or on bed.
Another sidenote - phone charges slower when turned on, and when in use.

In t... moreMy earlier response was oversimplified version to explain the differences between how ARM and x86 processors are handled by Android core, and where we expect to see improvements.
Obviously it's a lot more complicated than that, but it would make no sense getting into internal architecture differences between them on the high level post.
