AnonD-279813, 25 Aug 2014It's a few months old… not sure exactly when I bought it. I can show the chart to you now, ... morepurchased Asus Zenfone 5, 2 weeks back... I had updated to its latest version of 126.96.36.199 but still the battery backup is a big issue... And what you are saying about an icon in the notification bar of optimized mode, I can see none, though it is on optimized mode ... Please help me... My phone is almost 10 hours on flight mode but still the battery drains from 100 to almost 40... Even right now on 2G my battery drained from 100 to 50 in five hours...
The better part of asus in comparison to xiaomi is that it has svc centres all over india. The performance of phone is also great.

i very much confused in htc asus or micromax n mah budget is ol about 10,000 so kindley suggest me please
I noticed in CPU-Z that the processor is at 800 MHz at idle and immediately jumps to 1.6 GHz on any application. It doesn't seem to scale to any clock frequency between 800 MHz to 1.6 GHz. I think this is one reason why the battery life isn't really good. I wish on the KitKat update it would throttle down to at least 200 MHz and not immediately jump up to 1.6 GHz even at non-CPU intensive apps like web browsing or listening to music.
Rahul, 25 Aug 2014 thanks for reply but still i m little confuse all user and another website review say battery... moreDifferent usage patterns have different power requirements.
My particular usage is on this link:
You can see one of the screenshots showing today's usage some hours ago… and there are also from a month ago or so the battery usage graphs from end of first and end of second day on battery.
I don't know what your pattern would be, and how it would work out for you, but that's what I get.
TechVB, 25 Aug 2014Might be Kitkat will be available in September. I am not particularly looking forward to it, and you're probably wondering why I say this…
The speed and battery improvements are great to hear.
Breaking external SD card support isn't. So no more installing apps on SD. No more using file managers to move files around. No more downloading music and videos to the SD card.
What Google did was lock the folder on SD card to only the application that created it. Other applications can still read from it (well, mostly) but can no longer write into it.
This will wipe one of the best features of the ZenFone, the ease of managing the files on it, and move it much more towards iTunes lookalike system without the iTunes.
Ah well… I've got 2 of them. Will only update 1 to test first, and downgrade back to JellyBean if it breaks too much. Or root it and reset permissions.
don't think twice. its the best phone available at 10K with all the features equal to a high end phone.
AnonD-279813, 25 Aug 2014There is no KitKat update available for this model yet.Might be Kitkat will be available in September.

i m confuse whether to buy Asus zenfone 5 or Micromax canvas 2 colours.I wnt to buy it urgently bt nw Asus zenfone 5 is unavailable online.Wht shd i do? Pls suggest me frnds.
TechVB, 25 Aug 2014Its depend on your county. In India its available with 2 GB Ram.That's officially available ones.
There could be ones parallel imported as well, which could be old stock, and the author seems to suggest he has seen cheaper offers with 1 GB RAM.
My recommendation is to get 16GB/2GB RAM model, and buy it with warranty in your country. Else get 8GB/2GB, but not 8GB/1GB… you'll regret it.
If you see a sticker instead of printed Intel logo on the back plate, it's a good chance it's 1 GB RAM model.

In that case it would show it in full screen only if you hold phone in portrait and have the "screen rotate" enabled in settings for display.
Whenever I record a video, I am able to play and view the video in portrait oreintation where the size of the video on the screen is small. I am not able to rotate the video to Landscape orientation to have a full screen video. Any idea how can I do it???
