Rahul, 25 Aug 2014Thanks bro....now i but this phone.......Just added another screenshot of battery graph to that link that was taken moments ago.
13.5 hours, 66% left.
Using 2 SIMs (850/2100 MHz 3G for voice and data + 1800 MHz 2G for voice only), on 3G network all the time, bluetooth off, GPS on, Wifi off, screen on auto, 3 email addresses, Gmail, Yahoo, one Exchange; Default power saver settings, Line, WhatsApp, FaceBook on and notifications enabled. SD card inserted. Live wallpaper (black smoke). Firmware 1.17.40.
Note I did not take any photos or video, but I was reading the news and received and answered some emails, and spent about an hour on Line, maybe 15 minutes on FB, and made a few phone calls from SIM 2.
Signal was 5 lines all the time, I am in CBD with transmitting tower 10m away from me for first, and 50m away for the second SIM operator.

the best phone i have used fora while...people worry about the battery life..but i say its pretty good..given the fact that i was using nexus s before...i bought the 8gb version,,n uograded it with a 16gb class 10 micro sd...everythng is perfect until now..camera is also good...front cam s average though..but given the beautification feature even front cam seems good..:D..overall perfomance has been excellent..a fantastic buy for 10000rupeees...go for it..bult quality is awesome...n the ips screen is simply superb...it feels lik using nexus 5...fantast phone ata an affordable price...good job asus

I am confuse between S850 and Asus ZenPhone 5 because Lenovo S850 is 15,000 INR, while Zen 5 is 10,000.
And there is no big different beside 5MP front cam and 16GB, because i can always get 32/64GB card which is very cheaper.
By look i like Lenovo S850... Now i am so confuse :(

That's less than I use and I charge it once every 2 days.

AnonD-279813, 25 Aug 2014It's a few months old… not sure exactly when I bought it. I can show the chart to you now, ... morepurchased Asus Zenfone 5, 2 weeks back... I had updated to its latest version of 1.17.40.16 but still the battery backup is a big issue... And what you are saying about an icon in the notification bar of optimized mode, I can see none, though it is on optimized mode ... Please help me... My phone is almost 10 hours on flight mode but still the battery drains from 100 to almost 40... Even right now on 2G my battery drained from 100 to 50 in five hours...

The better part of asus in comparison to xiaomi is that it has svc centres all over india.The performance of phone is also great.

I noticed in CPU-Z that the processor is at 800 MHz at idle and immediately jumps to 1.6 GHz on any application. It doesn't seem to scale to any clock frequency between 800 MHz to 1.6 GHz. I think this is one reason why the battery life isn't really good. I wish on the KitKat update it would throttle down to at least 200 MHz and not immediately jump up to 1.6 GHz even at non-CPU intensive apps like web browsing or listening to music.

You can see one of the screenshots showing today's usage some hours ago… and there are also from a month ago or so the battery usage graphs from end of first and end of second day on battery.
I don't know what your pattern would be, and how it would work out for you, but that's what I get.

The speed and battery improvements are great to hear.
Breaking external SD card support isn't. So no more installing apps on SD. No more using file managers to move files around. No more downloading music and videos to the SD card.
What Google did was lock the folder on SD card to only the application that created it. Other applications can still read from it (well, mostly) but can no longer write into it.
This will wipe one of the best features of the ZenFone, the ease of managing the files on it, and move it much more towards iTunes lookalike system without the iTunes.
Ah well… I've got 2 of them. Will only update 1 to test first, and downgrade back to JellyBean if it breaks too much. Or root it and reset permissions.
