AnonD-279813, 19 Aug 2014That's correct. The update you are mentioning is 1.17.40.
It was available since yesterday.... morethey know that they have firm roots in the mobile market n thus don't give a damn.
Asus is yet to make a mark in the mobile dept.
AnonD-279813, 19 Aug 2014Didn't even check if it was there… I have just heard about it, and saw it mentioned in release... moreNo Panosphere is not there. panorama is there but only for horizontal mode not vertical. Beautification mode is taking pictures nicely. I just tested over my friend. He is amazed by seeing his pictures like this.
Hi Does any one have WIFI issues. I am having trouble with wifi as it keeps going on and off all the time automatically. All setting are check and power save is on which allows network connectivity. I have goggled the problem. There are other people facing the same issues.
AnonD-291211, 19 Aug 2014I have only panorama in my zenfone 5. No panosphere after update.Didn't even check if it was there… I have just heard about it, and saw it mentioned in release notes for this firmware.
All I can find about it is the seeing of the panorama like if it was on the ball, where you can scroll up and down… maybe that's what they are talking about?
But I have heard a month back that they were trying to make a panorama ball that could go up and down as well… guess this isn't it then…
AnonD-291211, 19 Aug 2014what is panoshere, i mean from where you got?I have only panorama in my zenfone 5. No panosphere after update.
AnonD-291211, 19 Aug 2014Who said NOKIA and SAMSUNG service is best. Check out reviews online. Everything is available ... moreIn Thailand Samsung service is shockingly bad.
Asus (never had phone serviced, but had brought in a laptop for a friend) service was very good though - both Asus itself and their 3 distributors who have their own service centres. Normally it would just take 15 minutes wait and they replace the thing with a new one if thing is under warranty.
Nokia was not bad, but like Blackberry they kept my phone (alas this was now a while back, Nokia N8) for 3 months, then send it back to me and it was worse than before - before it could not charge, after it could charge, but kept on dropping calls, and had all kinds of other problems that it never had before.
Blackberry took a 3 hours old phone with GPS not working, kept it for 2 and a half months, and replaced board in it with an old one, so the moment I turned it on, tons of people added me on BBM… pathetic.
And for Samsung… again, never had a phone sent for repair - but when 2 months old LCD TV developed a speaker problem and I called them about the it, I got the answer: "TV is for watching, not for listening. If it bothers you, buy yourself external speakers" - so much for warranty. In Thailand at least…
So I guess it depends on each country.
AnonD-296182, 19 Aug 2014i have got a camera update (India)
"pixel master camera update"
people who want ... moreGave it a shot after update and it's really gone another step forward.
Now, night shots are still not very impressive compared to Oppo Find 7, but they are bloody awesome compared to all other phones in my arsenal.
The screen "preview" in camera mode is "buttery smooth" and lock focus/exposure actually works - I've focused it on something on my computer monitor, then moved the phone around and it could actually track the objects.
I don't really use beautification nor use selfies, but for Asian "white wannabe" ladies, not only will it clean their skin, remove pimples, freckles, wrinkles, and reshape their faces, but it will now also whiten the skin… khm…
I didn't try panosphere yet - which is basically a panorama… but not only horizontal but also vertical.
Overall, what was already very good just got another notch or two better. Obviously there's still a limit of what an 8 MP CMOS sensor of that size can do, but it does hold up well against competitive products.
Now one thing that wasn't fixed - CNN app still can't play videos, it shows "Video is not available" while this works on all my other phones. Just not sure whether to report to CNN or Asus. It's for app version 1.50.
AnonD-296182, 19 Aug 2014yes yes yes
the latest firmware upgrade gives zenfone 5 users
cam... moreThat's correct. The update you are mentioning is 1.17.40.
It was available since yesterday.
Do note that there are also whole bundle of the apps updated today, many from comments on the PlayStore from the users.
So if there's something that's bothering you about some apps, like ZenUI, or messaging app or email app or… rate app and write a review what's bothering you. They do read it and respond to criticism by actually fixing things, and doing that very quickly.
I must say that both Asus and Oppo have released updates… very often, and that's what you would expect - not only bugfixes but also enhancements requested by users were implemented.
Thinking when was the last update I got for Samsung… a year ago? It's not like it has no problems! They just don't care about fixing them.
i found one problem hopefully bug..while running fm radio lock screen..then vol up button only working vol down not working..but in music both of them are working..frnds pls tell if its a software issue or hardware..if any other guy facing the same problem..
AnonD-296196, 19 Aug 2014is there any updates for the 1gb ram version??The updates for 1 GB and 2 GB version are the same.
If you have WW model, you should now be having 1.17.40 version of firmware.
It does have some serious updates in it, including OTG that many here were crying about...
AnonD-296196, 19 Aug 2014I seen a lot of zenfone 5 sell at some store use intel stickers at the back of the phone inste... morePhones with intel stickers were made in China or for chinese market. Other phones where the logo is drawn on the back side are from Taiwan. Both models are original.
AnonD-291211, 19 Aug 2014It may be a chinese duplicate or you can say Copy. Don't take your chances. Buy only from auth... moreThe original ZenFone 5 had 1 GB RAM and had the Intel sticker at the back. The 2 GB version came with Intel logo printed on the back plate.
That's original phone, but could be one of the early versions, or possibly 1 GB version.
My first time to use an Android phone and I simply Choosed this Zenfone 5,as an option, I use i5s so it's totally diff.
Problems I always encounter with Zenfone:
1. Facebook crashes all the time as well as facebook messenger
2. Network connection not consistent, this phone can detect strong connection signals but always saying connection timeout, so annoying, i don't believe it's the network though..
3. Asus keyboard sucks, no option to turn off auto correct.
How to play gta sa in asus zenfone 5
