AnonD-279813, 19 Jul 2014What frequency is your mobile operator using for 3G?
This phone supports 800, 900, 1800 and... moreThe sim use to work perfect in my sony live with walkman.
I think may coz in new delhi 3g network is.not that good
Right now i am using 3g without any issues
But in the corners where the 3g network drops to 1-2bars it switches to 2g.
Then i have to manually search the network and select airtel 3g
AnonD-279813, 19 Jul 2014First thing - go to settings, Dual SIM settings, and disable and re-enable the SIM 2 slot.

ven, 18 Jul 2014I have taken asus zenfone 5 last week, not able to connect to internet using mobile network. p... moreWhat frequency is your mobile operator using for 3G?
This phone supports 800, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz for 2G (EDGE) and 850, 900, 1900 and 2100 MHz for 3G.
There are some countries that use 800 or 1800 MHz for 3G, that won't work.
So first thing - try to switch 3G data off, to switch to 2G. If you can use it, that could mean that your operator's frequency is unsupported.
If that doesn't work, try to check if your SIM works on another phone for internet. If it does, try to go to your operator's site, and find out what the number to dial, APN, username and password are.
Often when you buy phone from operator, this is pre-set in it, but when you buy from elsewhere, this needs to be done manually.
What you could also do is take phone with SIM to your telecom's shop and ask them to set it up.
AnonD-285085, 19 Jul 2014Hi
i m using Asus zen 5 i have battery backup issue its drain out within 4 hrs also using sm... moreYes, the problem exists.
I used gingerbread b4 zenfone
It had three network modes , gsm, which will use only 2g
Wcdma, which will use only 3g
And wcdma/gsm , which will use 3gbut if the 3g network was weak it will switch to 2g.
The problem with zenfone 5 is that it has use only 2g network i.e. gsm mode
And wcdma/gsm mode(by default) so as soon as ur 3g is a lil,by lil i mean really little weak, even when u r travelling in a car or metro , the fluctuation in network forces a shift frm 3g to 2g network
U will notice H sign changing to E, edge.
That is when u notice drastic speed drop.
However wifi, i havent used yet. So can't comment.
Anyone else experiencing it???
User, 19 Jul 2014My Sim 2 slot is not detecting the sim that i inserted. The same sim is working fine in Slot 1... moreFirst thing - go to settings, Dual SIM settings, and disable and re-enable the SIM 2 slot.
See if that works.
If it does not, contact Asus as it's not a SIM card problem, given it works on SIM 1 slot.
Another thing - I've noticed that my ZF5 refused to connect to network after a phone restart soon after upgrading previous firmware. Shutdown and powerup was OK, just restart wasn't.
Now on last firmware it works OK. So maybe they made some errors in the firmware? Don't know. But try the above, if it works.
AnonD-284722, 19 Jul 2014U might have got a defective piece
Quickly apply for replacementI would second that. You might have a faulty phone.
Take it back for a replacement if your shop allows that 7 days period, or else contact Asus.
That is definitely not right.
tushar, 19 Jul 2014Guys any luck on why battery charging takes too much time?It could be faulty charger or cable.
I had that on Note II before, where it took forever to charge. Ended up being the USB cable from charger to phone.
I would recommend you try some other 2A charger with another cable, say one for USB2 external 2.5" hard disks.
That's how I figured out what happened, anyway. Took 10-12 hours to charge battery. After changing cable it dropped to good 2 hours.
User1, 18 Jul 2014GPS is not working for me. Anybody facing the same issue? Provide solution also.Try to check if you have location services enabled.
First time I've tried it, it could not detect where I was in the Maps. Then I found out that it didn't show that satellite dish at the top status bar and checking in settings, it was disabled. Enabled it and my blue triangle appeared on the map a couple of seconds later.
Anonymous, 18 Jul 2014What type of sim you used a original microsim or cutted regular sim in the form of microsim ... moreIf your SIM has small contacts, you can cut it. If it has larger contacts, then cutting it to microsim would cause the contacts to get chopped off on the side - that could cause problems.
So you can cut the mini-SIM with the cutter as long as you still have some plastic around the contacts left when you're done. If cut would go right into the contacts - don't do it.
Anonymous, 19 Jul 2014Dear Kirti,
Whether Zenfone 5 has led notification, with multi-coloured, it helps to find the... moreFYI - the new firmware broke notification light. Now even using the Motorola's widget to turn it on and off no longer works.
But as it used to, I guess it's a matter of fix in the next firmware.
There is no setting for it in the settings, though. Also it has only 2 LED lights, missing blue one, so it can only make notifications in red, orange or green. But not white or blue, even if your widget supports those.
AnonD-204192, 19 Jul 2014try factory reset if you cannot adjust the resolution of the camera greater than 2 mega pixel.Actually on some of the camera presets, like the panorama or the miniature effect, the resolution would drop. Also the front cam is only 2 MP.
The 8 MP can be used on Auto setting of camera, other settings may be lower. Some are 8 MP as well, some are less.
Phone uses 4:3 sensor, so if you choose 16:9 (shape of the screen), maximum is 6 MP.
chandan, 17 Jul 2014is it true? Yes, 6 video files in a row, 90 minutes approx. each, admittedly dark room, all MKV files in 1080p, maximum volume, each file 1.5-2 GB, on Sandisk U1 32 GB microSD card, screen set to automatic brightness (although admittedly quite dark due to dark room). At 30% phone switched to some power saving mode, not sure what it turned off, but last video file didn't look any different from the others. At the end of last one, there was 9% of battery left.
lubana, 18 Jul 2014Anyone who uses Asus zenpone 5 please tell me the few things...... 1.how is the camera revie... moreCamera quality is good in day light , but night it is problem as the phone has got a very weak led flash.but there is an interesting setting in the modes called night shot where u can shoot pictures in low light without led flash. Coming to the ram it has 2 gb ddr 3 ram.The audio quality is top notch through the asus provided headphones. But the external speaker is poor but manageable. The only complaint is the battery for which asus would do some kind of optimization in the promised kitkat update.Last words just go for the 8 gb version it is worth it .better than samsung grand 2, sony xperia zr, you will never regret.
i m using Asus zen 5 i have battery backup issue its drain out within 4 hrs also using smart saving option but no use battery will drain very quick and my internet is very pooor 2g and 3g both r in same speed and wifi also
