I have updated my Zenfone 5 A501CG to lollipop by downloading the file from ASUS.com , installed it manually , so far everything works good , UI had changed and looks great , the Lollipop UI has more smoother transitions than the KitKat , note that when switched on first time after updating , the UI lagged and app took a little more time to open but after 5 mins of use , everything worked flawlessly & smoothly...!
There are many changes to the UI...!
Animations are great...!
By my experience i think the battery life has improved a little bit especially the standby time has improved...and especially the Ultra Power Saving mode works way way better than before...!
After first boot 1395 MB RAM was free...!
Rest every thing is same like camera quality , Music quality remains unchanged...!
Conclusion : I think there is no problem in updating to Lollipop...!
I bought this phone last month super camera average battery not too bad in inter usage it will down 1 day good display update otgsupport .
Ok, have updated to Android 5. Battery life no improvement and drains at a rate of 5% with half and hour. User interface improves though. Initial boots have Wi-Fi hang and after reboot a couple of time, all is fine. Indeed, Intel cups are power hunger.
Hlw frnds ,m using asus zf 5 last days, all is well but battery drains very fast,.it drains from 100%-5% wdin one hour,,,,.....plz suggests me what to do...
Please find below the link for step by step manual upgrade to Lollipop

But I'm waiting for lollipop. I don't know how much time pending for it.I purchased ZenFone5 last 07/14 & not facing any big prob.bye friends
new update to resolve problem regarding calls without any sound issue, however i want to get some details about the update to lollipop which is available in the asus website WW 501 cg users.its not available over FOTA. i have downloaded the tooj/toof manually from the website.contemplating whether ishould with go ahead with L or stay with kitkat, (last time i waited for 3 months before i shifted to a more stable version of KK)
Don't expect too much for 2100 mah OK? If you want your batt life last longer don't use it I'm pretty sure that would last more than 12hrs （＾ｖ＾）. or find another cellphone that has 3100+ Mah for sure it would last longer more than 6hr of game time, OK?.. I got mine last month and I'm contented with this .. if I only have more money I buy the high quality of Asus
phone is good but it should have 5mp camera...... go for 'asus zenfone 2' or 'asus pegasus' in this range
