as i decided not to go back to this Phone as my main Phone as its simply to big to carry as a man without manpurse i decided to upgrade from 4.4 to 5.0
And sadly i once more haveto conslude just like the update from 4.2 to 404 that battery life took a significant hit.
People that know me from the 4x hd and G2 forums know i have great battery life and serious tweaking going on.
It cost me atleast 75 minutes screen on time ging from 4.4 to 5.0 while going from 4.2 to 4.4 cost me just over 70 minutes screen on time.
So going from 4.2 to 5.0 my battery life took a massive 145 minutes sot hit!
thats almost 2.5 hours sot or 25% decrease in battery life!
so anyone wanting to update think not twice but ten times before EVER updating your Phone to a newer android as i ahve after 5 years NEVER found any android update that actualy gave me MORE battery life.
Both google and every single manufacturer of mobile phones and tablets should be highly ashamed of the practice they have going past 5 years.
my new battery life is barely 7 hours screen on time with no simcard in the Phone and wifi off when screen is off in 2 days standby and power save mode on ultra (extra dimmed screen) .
So not only is it less with this update i also run lower brightness no wifi when screen is off and i have no data active.
i can only imagine how bad it is when i put a simcard in it and leave wifi on when in standby and disable energy saving...
im fairly sure it will dip under 6 hours sot.
With 4.2 i had over 9.5 hours sot sadly i cant use that software as it had broken battery software.

loved using this phone the past 10 months. I think im still gonna stick with it, just have a problem with the batt. drains so fast. I also hate the GPS sucks big time. other than these ilove this phone.

Anyone have this problem, my phone can't charge and the service center said is motherboard problem

Before going 2 bed,,i see my zenfone have 98% of battery remains,,,at morming i see that it's drains to 46%,,and the upper part of the phone become hot,,,is it just because i left the Location and WiFi remains switched onn...??

Dont risk breaking a product.
generaly updates cause more trouble then improvements so i never update unless i have to.

Guru, 08 Oct 2015One of the worst phone ever used. SIM card gets undetected, Battery sucks, Motherboard problem.Did you even read the manual and specs.
Both slots support different sims and every phones supports different frequencies.
You most likely didnt bother to take the tme to do research and see of your network is supported.
I get over 8,5 hours screen on time and 3 days stanby time with this Phone so if you think battery sucks your using it wrong.
Dont blame the Phone for your mistakes.

remove apps turnoff syncing bluetooth and so on and then check idle drain over 12 hours.
Only then you can see what causes it.
But 10 hours to charge is just not needed it should be full in less then 5 hours easy.
mine lasts over 4 days standby with 7 to 8 hours screen on time but i dont use sync bluetooth have it on 2g as tis fast enough here i use min brightness.
i have so called power save mode off as its useless nd i also have the detect draining apps off as all it does is cause draining.
manual operation of the Phone can as much as double your phones battery life.
So syncing all crap in the background like mail facebook and other crappy apps is a verry bad thing for your battery.
GPS is a killer on the battery as is gaming and high brightness.
Learn to read the screen on lower brightness.
Its hard at first but your eyes will ajust to it and its also better for your health and sleep rythm.
By all these little tweaks your Phone will still work fine if you check manualy but lasts a lot longer.
Some uage like gps if you need it cant really be prevented and you should take the loss.
Thats the same on EVERY Phone and some things just drain batterys.
Also if you have unexplainable drains after charging.
unplug after full charge and reboot the Phone.
My LG G2 has this weird issue.
if i charge and unplus it will start draining 10 to 15% a day extra but after the charge > unplug > reboot > it works flawless without any drain.
I generaly use my phones till they shut down do often i dont notice but if i charge before empty drain is guaranteed...
So clean the hpone and start analyzing the drain.
whatsapp is generaly verry effecient so dont worry about that app.

Had this phone 12 months now and love it. Big keyboard suits my gorilla fingers. Big screen easy to read and great for movies otg. Fantastic camera - can finally use digital zoom and see it sharpened unbelievably so the images are still very sharp and clear. Great battery life. Dropped it 3 times so now looking for replacement and cannot find anything better in this price range so will stick with this model. It does everything I want and at an affordable price.

bunny, 06 Sep 2015worst phone ever. sunsung is much better. slow processer of assus ....If u got alot budget then go for Samsung~ what are u expect from a mid range phone? Octa Core 2.1 Ghz? 4GB Ram? 21 Megapixel Camera? Don't Bullshit Around Man~

its possible your Phone port /usb cable plug is dirty clean it carefuly and try again.
Its a problem that ive seen occur on pc's with dust and hairs in the port making current able to go to other ports.
also try another charger and cable.
it does NOT matter if you use a 500mah or 1,35a or 2.0a charger the Phone decides its charge current anyway not the charger.
