Regis.argyros, 09 Jul 2021Hi! One question pls: get THIS phone? Or the zenfone 8 flip? Pls help.Entirely depends on how much you want to spend to get SD888 over SD865. For me it's not worth $250 extra
Hi! One question pls: get THIS phone? Or the zenfone 8 flip? Pls help.
Phone is fat and heavy, screen is also 2019 Samsung stuff - 90Hz and only half as bright as 2021 phones. But it's pretty much the only modern phone that actually has an uncut rectangular screen so it's my only choice. I just can't tolerate punch holes no matter how good the phone is, it's like having a bug on the screen level of annoying.
Shame Zenfone 8 is a letdown with basically the same recycled components, I ended buying this one at a discount. On the plus side, the OS is clean without bloatwares so props to ASUS.
jepz, 15 Jan 2021will it be release in Phil.?Try to check in Lazada, some sellers are taking in via pre-order scheme.
Zenfone 6 was a good phone at a very competitive price. Unfortunately, 7 was too expensive. Hope 8 brings something competitive.
Fixargeddon13, 23 Feb 2021It doesn't matter what we need or want, they will keep killing 3.5mm jack, and SDcard slot... I would really be surprised (and sad) if they would not adopt the fantastic Quad DAC from ROG 5 to Zenfone 8, loaded with 3,5 jack.
Any huge difference between this and 7 pro pictures because the lack of OIS here ? Anyone knows something about ?
Fixargeddon13, 23 Feb 2021It doesn't matter what we need or want, they will keep killing 3.5mm jack, and SDcard slot... Well, 7 series kept the microSD card and ROG 5 is bringing back the jack so don't give up hope!

I'd love to see this for the Zenfone 8/8 Pro:
Zenfone 8 Pro (only changes include Snapdragon 888, return of the headphone jack, 5,150mAH battery, IP55, 16MP Ultrawide cam, 2K@90Hz display, and LTE Bands 29 and 66/5G bands 41, 66, 80, and 84):
12GB RAM/512GB ROM - $1,000
12GB RAM/256GB ROM - $925
8GB RAM/256GB ROM - $850 ($100 more to add mmWave as the only model released in the US with more LTE/5G bands as well)
Zenfone 8 (only changes include Dimmensity 1200, return of the headphone jack, 5,150mAH battery, IP55, 16MP Ultrawide cam, LG's LCD 2K@90Hz, and LTE Band 66/5G bands 41, 66, 80, and 84):
12GB RAM/256GB ROM - $800
8GB RAM/256GB ROM - $725
6GB RAM/128GB ROM - $600 ($700 as the only model released in the US with more supported LTE/5G bands)
This would be amazing to be honest and would bridge a larger gap between the two phones
Microsoft BOB, 26 Sep 2020FYI guys there is where the notification LED is on ZenFone 7:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EhG... morepersonally, i'm happy with the led notification position, that spot on the bottom is always visible when i place it flat on the table, on my old zenfone 5, always had to lean forward to check. Im guessing they don't put it at the front because they might as well use the "always on" screen option for notifications.
however, i'm disappointed they limit the colours, for a colourblind person it's so difficult to see a small blinking green or red dot. until now i can't tell what the third colour is or if there's any at all
The zenfone 7 (non pro) is actually discounted here in Belgium, you can grab it for 499 euros which is, for me personally, a pretty good deal. It is only discounted on the official store of asus so for people living in Europe or maybe outside of Europe, you can get this one for 499 euros
I really cannot understand ASUS's logic of using Snapdragon 865 chipset for the vanilla variant when the Pro variant utilizes the much more powerful Snapdragon 865+ chipset. If ASUS goes for the premium midrange Snapdragon 700 5G series chipset like the 765G and drops the RRP a little lower to €599, then this vanilla variant would make much more sense.
This new phone is kinda pricy, distribution for the zenphone 6 in the uk is utter trash, whilst its better with this one. Apart from that a lot of these specs really seem to get my interest, perhaps next year when the next model comes out I'll consider getting this used. Especially since by then I might want to replace my Redmi Note 7. I don't hate Xiaomi that much, I just think this is a sick phone.
