Anonymous, 29 Nov 2016it says 4G when on LTE. If you are from philipppines the thing you csll 4G is called H+ elsewh... more3G, or UMTS and is the successor to the GSM network and faster. H and H+ are standing for HSPA and HSPA+. Both use the UMTS network, where H is faster than 3G and H+ is faster than H. 4G stands for LTE and is the fastest. Thanks google. I can see H+ in locations with no 4G connection so the two are different.
Great display and design. The battery is also good and take great photos on daylight.
AnonD-578362, 02 Nov 2016ok, so i have given up- the phone was sent back "fixed" and still only barely locks onto 3 sa... moreit is the same for me, I have sent it the 3rd time not the phone is not even 6 months old yet. No more Asus for me, Asus do not care they just want your money
Asus fan., 21 Nov 2016Any issue about this phone? yes, the GPS will stop working after 1 month of using it, GPS detection will be slow slow slow and until nothing, sent my phone 3rd time on the same issue would not recommend you to buy this phone. Asus service is also bad, they don't care as it like they will just repair until your warranty expired
Anonymous, 29 Nov 2016Quick question here. How do i know if im on LTE?it says 4G when on LTE. If you are from philipppines the thing you csll 4G is called H+ elsewhere, when others say 4G they mean LTE.
AnonD-604409, 31 Oct 2016This a really good phone, for a budget phone that is. I was really impressed with the battery.... moreMine has quite acceptable focus times considered it uses contrast detection. Do not compare with phase detecting cameras on newer phones. However the small apperture can cause focus issues in low light. Fully Agree its great value for the money and 32 bit is not a performance disadvantage on android anyway. Impressed, this is basically as good as galaxy note 2, and i paid exactly 6 times more for Note 2 four years ago.
Great phone for the price, surprised to get 16gb storage at this price. As for being a 32 bit soc, it really doesnt mstter, only iphones has a massive advantage with 64bit CPU. However im disappointed that Android gotten much worse since last i had it (4.3), wow how much it sux, going from terrible to ridiculous, what a mess lol. So this phone does not risk being used by me, just got it coz its cheap, if you can stomach Androids catastrophic workflow and annoyances this is amazing value for the money, and its so cheap thanx to the clueless boys who think 32bit is out and talking down the price of all 32bit devices, thank you clueless boys :)
Zenfone max was a total disappointment for me. For a model that has GPS as one if its features on the box and website but just doesnt work is terrible. For those in doubt how it was tested, heres what I did:
- Out of the box FW, downloaded offline maps, tried outdoors with clearskies no surrounding structures, no wifi, no data, no blu tooth, pure gps only (why? Gps function is a separate hardware built in the phone for offline navigation, wifi, data, and btooth is just an alternative or support for accuracy for areas with possible obstruction when connecting to gps) No GPS working
- updated FW to at least 3 versions up to the most recent, did the procedure above...still no gps
- went to service center since unit is still in warranty, told them the things i did and they acknowledged it and i was told to wait three weeks. I patiently waited and finally got my phone back. At that time I checked GpS and it looked like it was locked to where i was (service centers location) i assumedthey fixed it. Went back home and It was later i realized when i tested it at the center the wifi was on, so it was detecting the location of the ip address of the wifi connection. I turned off wifi, went outdoors on a clear sky using an offline map again gps is not locking. I quickly checked the paper they gave me and read the trouble report, all they did was a re flash of the FW.
WOW, just WOW. ASUS, I HOPE YOU VALUE YOUR CUSTOMERS. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

I've won a zenfone go TV and its not commercially sold here in PH. When i opened it theres no pre-installed solo tv app. so how can i watch the free air tv without this. and i don't know if this is available in play store. please help
some application on this phone automatically close and prompts com.blablala.. unfortunately stopped ... and some app became slowmotion and unfortunately stopped...so disgusting
How i can do update Android version?please help me about this regard.
As per the cost of this phone the features are sufficient , the camera is awesome & the battery backup is good....
ok, so i have given up- the phone was sent back "fixed" and still only barely locks onto 3 satellites. those of you that understand GPS know that a minimum of 4 satellites is required to accurately navigate. its stated that this device has GPS ( USA) and GLONASS ( Russian) as well as Chinese satellites (bei do)?? - the more systems , the better and more accurate.
needless to say- i recieved my device from ASUS unfixed. unchecked, non fuctioning, claiming all was fixed.
I have sent the phone back for a full refund and will now try my luck with XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 3 PRO. ( same price better specs) was going to try the LENOVE K5 note , but they only use the USA GPS and not the RUSSIAN and Chinese satelites. ( more satelites , better navigation)
sorry for the rant guys.
I used to be an ASUS- FAN, lack of customer support has tarnished the brand for me, if you get a fully functional phone best of luck to you .
This a really good phone, for a budget phone that is. I was really impressed with the battery. But with the camera? not so much. It sucks on lowlight both the rear and the front. But with natural bright light you cam take some pretty decent shots. Also the focus is REALLY slow i get annoyed trying to get it focused.
