malaysian, 03 Sep 2016May I know what's the battery capacity of this model? The unit I got comes with 2910mah batter... moreOfficial ASUS website also says it's 3010: https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-Go-ZB551KL/specifications/
May I know what's the battery capacity of this model? The unit I got comes with 2910mah battery, not 3010mah as stated in gsmarena.
malaysian, 02 Sep 2016Is your phone can't lock location at all before the fix?Yes, it can lock maybe at 5 sats max under clear sky. Maybe one or not at all inside the car. Now it can lock to almost all it can see after repair.
Called customer service about the GPS issue and the helpless agent told me there was an issue with the new FW update and engineers are looking for a solution that will be rolled out on the next update. I wasn't satisfied so the next day I called them up again to ask if service center can roll-back the FW. The 2nd agent told me that there is no known SW issue (1st agent is lying) so better bring the device to the nearest service center for check-up. Guess what...after 3 days it wasn't a SW issue after all but an issue with the GPS hardware (RF absorber). So guys, don't think twice. Bring your device to the service center to claim warranty. Just to be sure, use 'GPS Test' app from the playstore to check the gps connectivity. My device can see a lot of satellites but can only connect to 1 or 2 inside the car before repair. Now it can connect to more than 20 even inside my house. Hope this helps.
Ok.. so I just bought this phone few days ago after deciding between this phone and lenovo a7000 plus.. Testing everything including gps it works fine.. I guess I am a few lucky 1 judging from the comments here..
AnonD-578692, 31 Aug 2016I have this phone for 4 months and I don't have any issue on it. For those who are complaining... moreOh look an asus employee shill. Listen buddy, before trying to dicredit me and the others take a look at the Google searches. We know how to use GPS. I used it for two years with asus and years before that using Samsung and huawei. Congrats on buying one of the few unfaulty phones asus made. But asus needs to step up and you need to actually read the comments and stop pretending your are a guru about all things gps. Our issues are real, you sir, I doubt are.
I have this phone for 4 months and I don't have any issue on it. For those who are complaining about GPS might as well contact the store first/use your warranty and find out what really causes the issue before posting some feedback here.
Funny, how these people complaining about GPS but how are they testing it? Please don't tell me that you guys are using pokemon go as a method of testing the GPS.
WOW, just read all the reviews below- had no idea the amount of gps issues on this thread- looks like its substantial!!
BE ADVISED_ DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE_ ITS FAULTY##########
After owning the original Zenfone 5 A500CJ for two years and loving its simplicity and execution i decided to again purchase the latest offering from Asus- the Asus Zenfone ZB551KL.
I Used the A500CJ as a business phone making in excess of 30 calls per day, using its camera for site inspections appraisals, and using its GPS for pin point location when walking thru the streets of my city ( Melbourne Australia) to ensure i make it to my appointments directly- saving me time looking for the correct address.
2 years it served me well, battery declined as they all do - so i upgraded ..to this heap of CRAP! A search on the asus forums shows 12 threads started by non related posters (tip of the iceberg) where a GPS issue exists- no response from ASUS, the issue is simple, the GPS wont work- the phone does not pick up gps signals. ASUS knows this and they have not rectified the issue. The phone is either faulty- (please google gps and zb551KL for yourself) or has faulty software which wont be fixed. Either way if you need GPS ( which you are indeed paying for) you will not be able to use it with this phone. Sorry asus, you had a fan, i own your 2013 Nexus7 , i own two of your zenfones, i bought a Zenpad S and i bought my son a zenfone whilst in Thailand on a family holiday. But im considering samsung or Huawei or HTC or even Xiaomi for heavens sake?? still deciding......
Needless to say- im a fan- but why have you dropped your quality control??
Dont buy asus anymore.moat of their product have a problem with gps.never buy this product again.cheating!!
