Hacko, this phone should come in just over 300 pounds sterling without a contract.
n$ew, the software/profile for Three is slightly different than for Vodafone (Phones4u have this only on Voda). So I wouldn't count on everything working absolutely right if you just put a Three SIM into a Voda unit. But this product is dynamically profiled, so it may _try_ to change its settings to Three if you put the SIM in.
fyi, benq-siemens recently opened a shop at the foodcourt level of robinsons galleria at ortigas, philippines. according to the sales consultant, they will start selling the ef81 model this june. they dont have the srp yet but the sales person said that it wont go beyond php25,000.00 they have a dummy model on display. why dont you check it out.
Thanks GSMArena for reviewing this phone.
who knowa when will it be able on Plemix.com
I've just tried the settings for Voda TV and it's now working fine. Thanks Tom for the tip.
There is no option to watch TV in full screen mode which is a pity.
Hi, all. Here's the Voda TV fix I've been given - can't test it myself as my SIM is not provisioned for it - company phone :(
- turn phone on with Voda SIM in
- press centre key to get icon menu
- move highlight to Media Player and press centre key
- move to the bookmarks tab with the right navigation key
- press left soft key (Options)
- highlight will be on Settings, press centre key
- change the connection profile to VF GPRS and press the left soft key (Options), select Save
This should sort it, would be really great if someone can confirm on the forum if this works!
Thanks Tom. Would greatly appreciate it if you could get the Voda TV fix.
Hi, TD. There is a fix available for the streaming Voda TV, just by changing a setting (2 minutes, about 20 keypresses). I'll try and get the fix for you.
D. This phone is also available on 12 month contract FOC on Phones4 u website !
Had this phone for a week now and find it a big letdown. OS slow and lags as reported by others. In pictures folder no thumbnail preview only icon with with jpeg, gif etc written inside it and no facility to scroll through stored images. Camera ok in daylight but average in bad light conditions - no camera light or night mode. Video 5 mins max and quality not very good. Battery life 2-3 days with light/moderate use. Won't support streaming/mobile tv on Voda Uk - unsupported file type. Themes are very dull.
Good points - good looking and stylish, good screen, ringtones very loud, good quality sound on mp3, ability to answer calls with phone closed.
When firmware updates are available to solve software problems might be an OK phone but at the moment wouldn't recommend.
ive had this phone for about a month it is great but a few problems that drive me crazy are the OS is super slow which i wouldent mind so much if that was it but my phone turns off and reboots way 2 often it cant multitask if you giuve it 2 muc h2 do it will reboot thats wat drives me crazy bout it but other then those 2 things its the best phone i ever had
Went in to P4U at lunchtime, they now have this in stock. I had to sit through their sales pitch for 45 mins, but they eventually let me play with it. Very nice. The screen is excellent, and I do not think that the OS is slow at all. The only problem, they are selling it on an 18 month contract.
Talking to rep at phones4u (England) they said they should start getting the phones next week, they started advertising the phone but had to send the first batch back cos of software issues
I really don't have this phone but had several bad experiences with Siemens mobile phones.
That performance issue was sooooo anoying that kept me away from Siemens. This mobile seems quite good, but I wouldn't spend my money on something with poor performance.
I am eagerly anticipating the release of this handset. I am strangely drawn to it inspite of its plain anterior design.
I already have him 2 weeks... any questions? mail me firstname.lastname@example.org
and btw standby time is +-2-3days
I called BenQ Hellas and the guy said that the phone wil be available in Greece on the 20th of May.....which means a week ahead...
