these phones are still pure siemens and benq. all of them are just co-branded and "not" co-produced. so we really can't judge benq-siemens for now in terms of design.
i would have thought that two mobile companies could come up with an original design rather than making the s88 absolutely identical to the k750i/w800! They should stop copying successful handsets! V slack on Benq Siemens behalf!
just a copy of the sony ericsson k750i/w800i. i hope for benq siemens the quality of the phones will be much better, the last series 65/75 from siemens are very bad :(
Wow, nice phone. Will be looking forward to this phone. Is this the first OLED phone??? Cool stuff!!!
Organic Light Emitting Diode (hereafter OLED) display is a self-luminous display that does not require a back-light, offering high contrast ratio
i just wish they had a FM radio too in that.. and they did not introduce any new feature.. its not comparable to nokia n70 or sony k750i.. they both have radio ..
i think that's very good device.this is the first for oled screen.because its not on the mini-screen
Not sure battery life will get a lot better.. I just hope the price for OLED LCD's will be a lot cheaper.
OLED LCD is better than TFT LCD. The technology is not used at a large scale yet. There is an experimental 17" OLED LCD from hitachi..i think. It is suposed to display more vivid, more natural colors than TFT LCD.
OLED (organic light-emitting diode) dont need a backlight to work, so battery life is much better.
if u want to kno more than that
its all there
looks more like a siemens, than nokia or SE..its a fat me75. i like it! but the back isnt siemens..thangs God!
anyone know if it supports standard 3.5mm headphones? if it does, i'm starting to regret i bought a w800... it not, it sucks. :p
looks more like a nokia than a SE, just look at the keys!!! those are the ones nokia been using since 6230!
now i look carefully and i noticed they copied SE lol.. by combining 2 companies making new phones.. and the torches.. copied SE.. design copied.. Motorola..
Hmmmmm....on closer inspection these new BS phones are nothing too special.
This S88 is remarkably similar to the SEK750 in more ways than just looks:
Look at the specs side by side:http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=1090&idPhone1=1411
The EF81 flip is a V3 rip-off (altho it looks far better than the V3 imho) so it seems that although BS (unfortunate acronym!) are producing half-decent phones, they need to quickly assume their own corporate identity or they'll have no chance. The only one that even looks like a Siemens is the S68 and although its only entry-mid level, it certainly ain't the best out there.
I'm sure they'll find their feet. These 3, although being suspiciously similar to the competition, are still a very good start for BS. If you look at some of SE's earlier phones, they weren't too cracky and its only in the last 12-15 months that they've started releasing really good phones, and IMO BS will be just as major a force within 2-3 years.
