It's now impossible to have bbm on it... bbm now requires the minimum software os version to be os5 the highest this one goes is os 4

Solid phone tho. If you do get it, don't be scared theres no browser + no e-mail, just call your wireless service ask to be put on the blackberry wireless plan, then go to host routing table and register. You get it all then. :)
ps. to check you have the "b wireless" it should have GSM or GPRS in capitals at the top, if in lower case, you need to call up your carrier.

To all the people asking, yes, you can get blackberry messenger on this phone. I, for one, have it. Don't ask me how to get it though, it came with the phone, so I have no idea.
