The blackberry 7230 is an ok phone. I like it because nice sized screen, keypad, long battery life, nice size pda. I dont like it because, no sd card capibility, internet is kinda of slow, ringer is real low. But overall I got this phone brand new off ebay for 70.00, so Its an ok phone for the price. This phone does have quite a few options to it. My next phone will have windows on it.. Does anyone know how to cuztomize your ringtones with the 7230 without subscribing to some crazy ringtone website for 20.00 a month..email me on how

Poor on several counts:
(1) Design rather antiquated - Does not do much for one's image.
(2)What a funny name!
(3)Potentially a hazard to one's eyesight due to poor illumination of display.
(4)Temperamental - Does strange things while you are using it, and often has to be reset.
(5)No camera/No video
I can go on and on - I acquired one about 8 months ago and it has been sitting at the back of a drawer. My 8 year old son occasionally plays with it.
I have a nokia 6600 and there is no comparison.

Truly I haven't got a commet about blackberry 7230, but I would ask somebody about something.

Questions:
I read on some manual instruction (searched on web) that is possible increase the memory of 7230, is it true? Anyway if it's possible can I use the 7230 as Satellite navigator?
I wait the sentence of somebody, thank you.

Good
- features (i.e. receiving email)
- secure
- long battery life

Bad
- even old farts think its daggy
- looks like a calculator
- keyboard hard to use (normal keypads are faster in my opinion
- ear piece for phone hard to find
- sometimes people can't hear you properly during phone calls (I often get "Are you there??")
- backlight isn't very bright and doesn't come on automatically

I have had this model since 12/04. I travel all over the world. This unit most of the time automatically downloads the necessary service books for the different countries I enter. Sometimes, I have to manually force it by removing the battery for 30+ seconds. Its not much but it is a pain as the start up for this is at leat 3 minutes. The phone portion is good, but I do not like it due to the size, width. I have trouble finding the spot to hear, kind of awkward. When headsets are installed, it is very good and clear. Even in countries like Czech Republic's mountains. My favorite part of the phone is the real time email. And that too is received all over the world.

What I do not like is the attachment viewer. It is just no good. Well, at least for me. I get pdf's and doc's all the time and I just cant view them. Unless I want to pay an extra subscription price of $20 month. My other problem is the internet browsing. It is WAYYYY too limited. This too is better if you pay extra and download a 3rd party program.

Overall, this is a good unit. It is somewhat outdated due to technology. But for the budget, if you get it with a cell provider contract, it is worth it.

Gregg
